I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but there is definitely a gender discrimination thing going on here. Some of you will have noticed that I have been repeatedly accused of being anti-feminist, that I have repeatedly been accused of being that sad little prick from facebook. That I have been called various names. You've probably also noticed that I haven't broken a single rule, I've not personally called any member a name, or posted anything nasty towards any individual. But I've now had two accounts banned, I've had posts deleted. I've had an entire thread deleted, because I dared to create a post calling into question whether this site is operating a gender discriminationj policy towards men.

You'll note the published policy about trolls:
Unfortunately, it's not always immediately obvious whether a poster is, in fact, a troll. We all tend to be a bit suspicious of new folks posting things of a sensitive or inflammatory nature, but we would rather Mumsnet erred on the side of giving folks the benefit of the doubt and risked being made to look a bit foolish than pounce on someone who turns out to be genuinely in need of help. We hope you agree.

I'm afraid that's not true, in reality the women can go around making all sorts of nasty personal remarks about the men, but even if a man (such as me) stays within the rules, and doesn't make nasty personal remarks he will be banned should he dare to say something the women object to.

I am living proof of this.

I have been banned twice without the administrators of this site having a single piece of evidence to support their claims of me being a troll. You've seen me repeatedly ask the women making that accusation against me to show some evidence from any one of my post that in anyway demonstrates me behaving like a troll on this board. They have completely failed to do so. I have asked via email, and only received a response which basically says that because I stated that I didn't care about what any women thinks or feels... in direct response to a woman breaking the rules and making yet another unfounded allegation against me, that the administrators 'feel' I 'might' be a troll.

That's their reason for banning me... despite there being nothing in any post of mine which constitutes trolling behaviour towards any other member of this board.

Expect this thread to be deleted completely, in line with their attempts to hide away from the membership the truth of how they are operating gender based discrimination on this site.

This account will undoubtedly be banned and I shall be back to point this out all over again... until the administrators of this site have the decency to show some honesty and admit that this is exactly how this site is being operated to the membership.

So what is the general consensus on 'accent walls', then, stylish ladies? DH keeps threatening to paint one wall red or summat. Is that a good idea or has it been done to death?

I remember a very dark aubergine wall in the living room in our previous house rather fondly

DirtyMartini · 28/08/2011 21:35

Oh yes, the sofa: another impractical pale shade from the JL clearance sale, currently sporting a large smear of Soreen malt loaf stickiness on one seat cushion.

MmeLindor. · 28/08/2011 21:34

Chickens
I think that you need to help me make MN liquorice-ist, since you were so successful with the turkeys.

Does everyone agree that liquorice is the lowest form of confectionery, and infinitely inferior to chocolate? I feel that we should perhaps section off a corner of the shops to be reserved for the liquorice products. In case they cross-contaminate the chocolate.

DirtyMartini · 28/08/2011 21:33

Ours is some sort of incredibly boring magnolia-type shade, with a white ceiling, but it is a nice high ceiling with Victorian plaster cornicing around the edges.

Fireplace unfortunately modern and not that nice (predates us) but not very noticeable either, so not too bad.

Very creaky, splintery, badly maintained original pine boards and a big woolen rug in an impractical colour from the John Lewis clearance. We should spend a lot of time Hoovering.

No Lego yet, but lots of tiny Playmobil items lying around to stab the feet of the unwary.

(Is he gone yet?)

5inthebed · 28/08/2011 21:33

There is also a male poster called someoneofgg, can't remember his name (sorry).

My living room, laminate flooring, brown and cream walls, and electric blue settee and armchair Hmm

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:32

It's the way they divide and yet form one larger Whole when put together - now I am scaring myself!

Do you think we can keep this going to 1000 posts? Grin

Our living room has cream walls, 1 fireplace, nice oldish parquet flooring, but the overall effect is sadly marred by ancient baby puke stained sofas and more primary coloured plastic (not just Lego!) than would look good in Toys'r'us.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 28/08/2011 21:32

Mumsnet is also turkeyist. But it's taken me ages to make it so.

My living room has dark maple floorin, pale nothingy coloured walls and oatmeal coloured sofas. And I have a plant called Pete.

MirandaGoshawk · 28/08/2011 21:31

I'm always surprised when posters turn out to be men. There is normally no way of telling, they seem so, er, normal.

I've tried to get DH on here. He won't. Says it's for women.

Magnolia with lots of magnolia. (Boring DH's taste) But we have a fantastic charity shop near us that sells ve cheaply so I have some great quirky crap clutter bits & bobs that DH doesn't approve of.

nenevomito · 28/08/2011 21:30

My living room has a carpet that looks like a hundred ferrets were sick over it. I am saving up for a new one.

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 28/08/2011 21:29

'I love 70's done stylishly. I loved the tiles in Perniles and Theis kitchen in
The Killing.

giyadas · 28/08/2011 21:29

Mmelindor - yes, those do make me feel a bit better. Grin

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 28/08/2011 21:29

Maybe tiny Lego is little Borg seeds? Confused

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:28

think, doh

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:28

I love a good dogshit thread - gets the old juices flowing. But who mentioned dog piles Confused.

Is tiny Lego related to the Borg, you thing?? It'd explain a lot...

pamplemousserose · 28/08/2011 21:27

Tic, tic , tic, BOOOOM!

nenevomito · 28/08/2011 21:27

nevergoogle Grin that is the best advice ever!

MmeLindor. · 28/08/2011 21:26

We never redecorate now, cause we move too often. White walls, white blinds, neutral colours. I try to bring in some accents with furniture and cushions etc.

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:26

70s style cannot be done stylishly, ThePanthan, it just cannot.

Re industrial hoover: tempting, v tempting, but DS1 may just run away from home. He is only 8 - it seems cruel

Honeydragon · 28/08/2011 21:26

Cream here with mahogany parquet that is scratched to buggery.

Is it possible for an entire forum to have a stalker? We are quite widespread, I feel an injunction may be tricky?

LostInTransmogrification · 28/08/2011 21:25

The Borg don't discuss decor, far as I'm aware Smile

The point I was trying to make is there isn't a site wide desire to discriminate, but this poster keeps poking the bear to get a response and then complains that the pissed off bear growled at him. Ignoring him now.

I also have some nice Sam Toft pictures on my walls.

SpringHeeledJack · 28/08/2011 21:25

mine is soft and cosy. Mostly because of the dog hair that lights on every surface

ah well. At least it prevents injury when accidentally kneeling on the lego. Cushions it, y'see

ThePathanKhansWoman · 28/08/2011 21:24

X post OTheHuge. I have creamish walls, oak flooring, really need to decorate. Im bored or maybe boring .

MugglesandLuna · 28/08/2011 21:23

Bog in a Bag!
That is all I have to say on the subject.

greencolorpack · 28/08/2011 21:21

God I HATE dogpile threads. Sad

The hatred is so intense and I've no idea who this guy is, but LostinTrans, this is a very Borg like thread.

Peace and love, peace and love.

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 28/08/2011 21:21

pacific Tiny Lego is evil - have you considered hiring an industrial Hoover? Grin
