I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but there is definitely a gender discrimination thing going on here. Some of you will have noticed that I have been repeatedly accused of being anti-feminist, that I have repeatedly been accused of being that sad little prick from facebook. That I have been called various names. You've probably also noticed that I haven't broken a single rule, I've not personally called any member a name, or posted anything nasty towards any individual. But I've now had two accounts banned, I've had posts deleted. I've had an entire thread deleted, because I dared to create a post calling into question whether this site is operating a gender discriminationj policy towards men.

You'll note the published policy about trolls:
Unfortunately, it's not always immediately obvious whether a poster is, in fact, a troll. We all tend to be a bit suspicious of new folks posting things of a sensitive or inflammatory nature, but we would rather Mumsnet erred on the side of giving folks the benefit of the doubt and risked being made to look a bit foolish than pounce on someone who turns out to be genuinely in need of help. We hope you agree.

I'm afraid that's not true, in reality the women can go around making all sorts of nasty personal remarks about the men, but even if a man (such as me) stays within the rules, and doesn't make nasty personal remarks he will be banned should he dare to say something the women object to.

I am living proof of this.

I have been banned twice without the administrators of this site having a single piece of evidence to support their claims of me being a troll. You've seen me repeatedly ask the women making that accusation against me to show some evidence from any one of my post that in anyway demonstrates me behaving like a troll on this board. They have completely failed to do so. I have asked via email, and only received a response which basically says that because I stated that I didn't care about what any women thinks or feels... in direct response to a woman breaking the rules and making yet another unfounded allegation against me, that the administrators 'feel' I 'might' be a troll.

That's their reason for banning me... despite there being nothing in any post of mine which constitutes trolling behaviour towards any other member of this board.

Expect this thread to be deleted completely, in line with their attempts to hide away from the membership the truth of how they are operating gender based discrimination on this site.

This account will undoubtedly be banned and I shall be back to point this out all over again... until the administrators of this site have the decency to show some honesty and admit that this is exactly how this site is being operated to the membership.

Another demanding pics from Tethers.

Please don't be making it up. Please?

stripeybump · 28/08/2011 21:43

Go to Laura Ashley and look at their shrines of beauty. They love wallpaper and clashing prints in there. And I love Laura Ashley. Feature wall maybe clashing with other patterns still ok?

MmeLindor. · 28/08/2011 21:43

No accent walls.

Agree that big flowery wall is very Next catalogue.

And I am getting fed up of duck egg blue. Even though I LOVED it.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 28/08/2011 21:42

Grin at a bit next catalogue OTheHuge

deepfriedcupcake · 28/08/2011 21:42

And hooray, pleased to see licorice allsorts are allowed!

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:42

ThePantham, no offense, I grew up in the 70s , I am scarred Wink

Caoimhe · 28/08/2011 21:42

No there is no excuse for liquorice.

Sorry to hear that accent walls are over as I have one in my dining room - come on, why did no-one send me a MEMO!!!

deepfriedcupcake · 28/08/2011 21:41

We're renting and all the walls are white. Just white. With our own rugs over bare floorboards.

Sooo ... any ideas about how we should decorate our new house? 1930s semi-detached. Quite smart but far too much mushroom colour paint for my liking.

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:40

Well, now you are just confusing me re paint/wall paper. D'ya think this is not the right thread for living room decor advice, then??

stripeybump · 28/08/2011 21:40

Tethers

Pics or I don't believe you.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 28/08/2011 21:40

EvenLess Oh thank goodness, feel so much less like sociopath someone unable to enagage in meaningful drama.

Hard stare at Pacific Grin.

MmeLindor. · 28/08/2011 21:39

Liquorice Allsorts are a crossover confectionery product. They are allowed in the main shop.

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:39

Ah, thanks, stripeybump, I will feed that back to DH.

Custardo, I don't disagree with a word you said, but what is your living room like Smile?

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 28/08/2011 21:38

I love liquorice.

Accent walls are ok IMO if they're a different shade in the same palette. Contrasting colours or - heaven forbid - wallpaper are just a bit Next catalogue.

rhetorician · 28/08/2011 21:37

I don't always know which posters are men, I don't much care, either, as most of the men I've come across on here are good blokes and their perspectives are more than welcome (cestlavie take a bow). If you are an arsehole then you will run into trouble, whatever the configuration of your genitalia.

deepfriedcupcake · 28/08/2011 21:37

We always got our friend licorice rizzla papers if she was cheeky enough to ask us for some normal ones and then wait to see her face when she'd run out and had to use them.

Saying that I quite like licorice allsorts.

stripeywoollenhat · 28/08/2011 21:37

yellow walls, pine flooring poorly sanded and varnished by me, heavy multicoloured (mainly orange) striped curtains, random pics, dark red art deco ceramic fireplace, olive green sofa gradually being destroyed by application of two year old....

tethersend · 28/08/2011 21:37

My living room has black walls, sisal carpet, orange leather 70s suite, g plan sideboard, 70s lamps and a huge oil painting of Quincy on the wall.

I do like 70s.

MmeLindor. · 28/08/2011 21:37

Pacific
I am anti-accent walls, I am afraid. I think their time has come and gone.

When I go into a room with an accent wall, I am reminded of the final days of the split wallpaper walls with the border in the middle.

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2011 21:37

MmeLindor, much as Lindor is the pinnacle of cenfectionary, I feel that liquorice does have its place

stripeybump · 28/08/2011 21:37

Accent walls are a NO but nice wallpaper on one wall could be good as long as not damask or oversized flowers.

Caoimhe · 28/08/2011 21:36

Why was tethersend talking about smashing cisterns?

Anyway my living room has cream walls and cream sofas - soon to be replaced by brown sofas - wow, I know how to live!!!!!

Tortington · 28/08/2011 21:36

i know who you are and i wanted to like you. i wanted to see your pov. But it soonbecame apparent that you post in vehemently anti women way as a small minority of women post about men. neithere of you will consider other points of view and both sets of people are rigidly vehemently militant in their beliefs. fundemental even. so blinkered, so dead set, so unwilling to listen it is quite scary actually.

You can't set up another site which names posters and slag them off and not expect repercussions. to do this whilst single mindely posting in one topic area, rather than interact in any other way..shooting the breeze...

I do try and pride myself in being even handed. If there is one poster on mumsnet who doesn't follow a crowd its me. i don't have a gang or cronies and i don't kiss arse.

if i thought mumsnet were acting in a weird and underhand fashion, just picking on you i would say so.

i decided to 'unlike' your page and i don't read it anymore. I find it difficult to understand this kind of obsessive behavior. I don't think this kind of obsession is something that falls within the remit of healthy or normal. Therefore i personally find it alarming.

Men do come on mumsnet, men shouldn't have to find their own site (as someone has said on this thread) Men should be made welcome and should post where they like. And d'ya know what? they do.

I do like the thrill of a mini revolution, i like a bit of upsetting of the applecart, i like to question norms...especially on mumsnet where things get cliquey..fast! You severely dissapointed, there has to be some background that we are unaware of becuase you are single minded, with a single cause and you spend a lot of your time doing it. That alarms me becuase i don't understnd why

stripeybump · 28/08/2011 21:36

Mine is Laura Ashley cranberry Lori curtains over dark wood venetians, cream carpets and sofa with cranberry and brown cushions, battered brown leather chair in corner, Moroccan mirror and pouffe Smile

Pale blue and dark wood sounds gorgeous.

nenevomito · 28/08/2011 21:36

I'm with MmeLindor. Can't stand liquorice.
