Local Tsarinas wanted

CatherineHMumsnet · 21/06/2011 11:10

With Mumsnet Local looking more lovely than ever, we're now searching for more Mumsnetters to join up as Tsarinas.

There are currently 40 local sites with no Tsarina to look after them (listed below) but we'd also love to see more Tsarinas in general - so if you think you'd be interested, but your local area isn't listed below, do still get in touch. The more the merrier.

You can find out what being a Tsarina involves here. Just let us know on this thread if you're interested and we'll be in touch.

nickschick · 28/06/2011 18:15

Catherine I replied to your email .....di you get it?

MrsSnaplegs · 28/06/2011 17:35

Catherine did you get my email about Portsmouth ?

Milngavie · 28/06/2011 17:30

Inverary is a possible centre For Argyll or Lochgilphead, Oban andHelensburgh are bigger though. I'm in deepest darkest Kintyre Smile.

CatherineHMumsnet · 28/06/2011 16:49

Milngavie/MrsGerardButler - looks like there's ought to be an Argyll site. We need to pick a geographical centre for the area, what would you suggest?

MrsGerardButler · 28/06/2011 16:30

There isn't one listed for my area, West Dunbartonshire/Argyll and Bute. I'd be happy to help if there's any plans in that area.

TigerFeet · 28/06/2011 16:13

CatherineHMumsnet am just about to PM you :)

PositiveAttitude · 28/06/2011 15:07

Thank you! Smile

CatherineHMumsnet · 28/06/2011 15:06

LisMcA/Twoifbysea - are either of you up for the role of Tsarina in your neck of the woods? If so, PM me and I'll get a local site set up for you.

PositiveAttitude - if you take a look, you'll see we've separated Portsmouth and IOW out. The Portsmouth map looks a little odd which is what we're trying to sort out before we get you all set up - but don't worry, we are working through all the emails/PMs etc.

PositiveAttitude · 28/06/2011 11:34

Catherine is it only iMemoo/Twoifbysea that you will be contacting today, or is that a general response to others me too?

CatherineHMumsnet · 28/06/2011 11:27

For anyone who couldn't see the page on what's involved in being a Tsarina - here it is.

Thanks for showing an interest in becoming a Mumsnet Tsarina. We're really keen that Mumsnet Local helps connect local members, giving them tons of info on what?s going on in their areas as well as making it easier to meet up. It's an important role ? and mindful of that, we've got a whole host of treats planned for the people who make this all work ? which will soon include you, we hope!

If you do decide to become a Tsarina, we'll send you a proper How-to manual with all the necessary info on how to keep your local site updated. But before we do that, here?s a summary of the basic job requirements of a Tsarina, so you can see if this is the kind of role for you.

What a Tsarina does
The most important thing Tsarinas do is regularly check and update the listings on their local site, adding their own and editing other people?s. We?d also want you to pop in as often as possible and answer anybody?s questions posted in Local Talk. If you don?t think you?ll be able to keep an eye on your local site and update on at least a weekly basis, then being a Tsarina may not be right thing for you.

What you get in return
Apart from the warm glow of knowing you?re an integral part of the fabulous MN team, we do have some rather lovely treats in store for our Tsarinas. We?ll be posting regular prize draws putting all the Tsarinas? names in a virtual hat for some great prizes. And as you?re only up against a couple of hundred Tsarinas rather than the million-plus Mumsnetters, your chances of winning are considerably higher. We?ll also send you an annual Mumsnet Ambassador card, which you?re welcome to flash when you chat to any local companies ? who knows you might even get to review local shows or pantos?!

TwoIfBySea · 28/06/2011 00:18

iMemoo · 27/06/2011 19:25

So of we haven't had an email does that mean we've not been picked?

piprabbit · 27/06/2011 19:04

(I am assuming that catherinehmumsnet doesn't want me to just paste her email address in this thread).

piprabbit · 27/06/2011 18:38

For those people struggling to use the email link

Right click on the link that says 'then email us back, here'. You should have the option to copy the email address. You can then paste it into your usual email software, whatever that may be.

moomoo1967 · 27/06/2011 18:34

I would love to help out with the cheltenham area but cannot seem to email. It wants me to set up microsoft outlook which I don't use and do not have the relevant information for

Milngavie · 27/06/2011 18:23

There isn't a local for my area either. I live in the rural West of Scotland so that may be why. If you are ever looking for someone in Argyll, I'm here Grin.

MrsSnaplegs · 27/06/2011 17:29

Positive attitude I haven't has an email eitherSad but we will definitely be over in the school holidays as we need to come and see the dinosaur place and go to blackgang chine Grin

PositiveAttitude · 27/06/2011 17:26

I presume I am rejected then, if no email. Sad

Mrs Snaplegs, sorry, didnt see your post, but you can always come over to the lovely Isle!!

Shoesytwoesy · 27/06/2011 17:12

my area isn't on the list, but as I am moaning about it being so nt, do you need anymore?
