MN needs this smiley.

I think many of us have a deep need for this smiley. It could, quite honestly, change our MN lives [deadpan]

A [sarcastic] one would be v useful too.

But when would you use Wine?

BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 15:27

The eyes closer together change it's whole look. It is no longer smiling. Yes, more [rueful] or [pensive]

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 15/02/2011 15:27

Apart from Wine which is the best thing in the world I'm not mad keen on most of them. I particularly hate [ wink ] it makes me cringe. Who the fuck winks in real life? and the coloured ones are too gaudy. and I'm far too middle class to ever have a [ brew ] but I mighthave had a [mug]

BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 15:24

I am peering at the screen, because it looks like it has a slight smile.

The mona lisa of the emoticon world [awe]

I think you have captured [bemused] there hullster

OP posts:
Hullygully · 15/02/2011 15:21

It's gone wonky

Hullygully · 15/02/2011 15:21

. .

That is quite deadpan.

BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 15:19

I bet you wish we had an [oops] emoticon then didn't you [deadpan]

OP posts:
Acanthus · 15/02/2011 15:18

WON'T be binned will they. We are stuck with the buggers.

Acanthus · 15/02/2011 15:17

Yes but they

BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 15:16

You are missing the point Acanths. Most of the existing ones can be binned.

We need less twee ones and more useful ones.

Like [deadpan]

I am going to litter the boards with [deadpan] till I wear you all down.

Hully - you know you want to use them. You tease your fingers daily I expect. Typing them slowly before hitting delete.

OP posts:
Acanthus · 15/02/2011 15:11

No - PLEASE stop with the emoticons now

Hullygully · 15/02/2011 15:10

I don't use any of them but I would like a bedpan

Blackduck · 15/02/2011 15:07

I am so with you Slub - I hate the new wine and mug ones.....I really only use grin and hmm. Hmm is more than sceptical when I use it, it is downright heavy sarcasm :)
Loving that image of the petrol station wine glass! and I hate the confused one ....

CaptainNancy · 15/02/2011 15:02

I think Slubber means [hennin] not [wimple]
[deadpan]

BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 14:49

Everyone uses Hmm to denote deadpan/sarcasm but it's sceptical.

It's not the same.

OP posts:
BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 14:47

They can get rid of the wine and tea [vom] and the weird bear.

I said myself earlier that the wine and tea were too close to a ticker for my liking.

But [deadpan] is needed on MN.

I am even tempted to

OP posts:
lukewarmmama · 15/02/2011 14:15

In principle I agree with you all.

But I did just post on a thread where I thought a [pair of pants] emoticon might be just the ticket - as in 'ooooh, get her, judgy pants'

Come on, you know it makes sense. Big bloomers though, none of your lacy black thongs.

Poldera I just madly googled wimple in case I was incorrect with wimple usage. It's OK and yes it's totally versatile.

Trillian I have used the [blue face]before but you are right it always feels a bit unwieldily. No more for me. I'm going to express my sadness via the medium of the written word.
