Thanks Helen / MNHQ / Tech bods.

Glad one can now change the highlight colours (I ditched the green immediately).

For any MNetter wanting to know how, see the bottom of the page you get when you click Customise at the top of this page or use the link here:- Topics | Customise | Unanswered messages | ...

TitsalinaBumSquash · 14/01/2011 17:37

Could we not have a nice pale blue like MNHQ get when they post?

Jux · 14/01/2011 17:32

Oh I lurve the green.

BuzzLightBeer · 14/01/2011 17:16

it wasn't beige or brown before, it was a sort of dirty sleet. I like the green better.

But the HQ lovely pale blue is even better, lets steal that

TragicallyHip · 14/01/2011 16:17

Opps much Blush I'm not pissed honest guv!

ChippyMinton · 14/01/2011 16:16

Can you not just highlight the poster's name instead though, instead of the text?

ChippyMinton · 14/01/2011 16:15

Mine is a classic F&B/National Trust woodwork sludgy grey-green?

TragicallyHip · 14/01/2011 16:14

I like the green, mush better than the murky grey it was before!

ChippyMinton · 14/01/2011 16:13

Ooh, why didn't I know about this option? Going to have a play and report back on 'green-ness'.

PositiveAttitude · 14/01/2011 16:05

OOOps Blush I didnt read you name properly, did I?? Now foot in mouth time, me thinks!!! Blush Blush

NigellaPleasePollockWithMe · 14/01/2011 10:22

PA - Maybe I should be Nigel then not Nigella Grin

PositiveAttitude · 14/01/2011 10:16

Nigella, perhaps thats why they chose green? To keep the men at bay!! Grin

NigellaPleasePollockWithMe · 14/01/2011 09:59

HelenMNHQ - yours is a nice Blue/Grey colour - would like to have that one.

Also did you know that many men are colour blind in red / green.

HelenMumsnet · 14/01/2011 09:57

Hello. Seeing as some people like the new green and some people like the old sludge (and some people will never be pleased Wink), we'll have a look a setting up a small palette of colours to choose from.

No promises, mind! We need to work out how complicated a job that's going to be for Tech first...

werewolf · 14/01/2011 09:15

Same problem as op. A lighter colour would be preferable.

NetworkGuy · 14/01/2011 09:11

on the other thread I suggested a change from No / Yes to No and then a selection of colours.

Ideally you'd get a small palette displayed to choose your own colour for each type of highlighting (and perhaps if they went that far, it would even be possible to have a background colour selection, so mloo could invert the messages as requested!)

TheManWhoSoldtheWorld · 13/01/2011 16:03

I don't like the green either - it's a horrible hospital green too.

The beige was easier to read, but any paler colour would be fine.

Fimbo · 13/01/2011 15:52

Och I never use that option. Just tried it and its ok but decided to bother, never had it before so will not start now Grin

NigellaPleasePollockWithMe · 13/01/2011 14:59

Need a thread linked to Farrow & Ball to vote which is the best colour.

Prefer the old 'beige' to the new green.

ethelina · 13/01/2011 14:57

I like it. Smile

InmyheadIminParis · 13/01/2011 14:55

I've tried it in all the options (workplace, classic, etc) and it's still TOO GREEN. I've even changed the brightness and contrast on my screen, but it hasn't helped.

Are you there MN?

AntonDuBurk · 13/01/2011 14:54

Hated the beige though!

I'm assuming OP highlight still doesn't work on MN mobile?

(Poor Tech(s). We're never happy are we!)

InmyheadIminParis · 13/01/2011 14:53

Woah! Way too green. It's horrible. Can we go back to the wishy-washy beige please?

mloo · 13/01/2011 14:52

I have green, it's one of the options you have to set under customise, to have OP's posts highlighted thru whole thread. It's brill when you want to find out what OP actually said in a thread, rather than all the horrible things they were accused of. Wink

I liked the light brown better, more of a classic MN colour, but the green is okay by me.

I wish I could invert all the black and white (so have white text on black background) for MN regular posts, is that possible?
