I think often the thread gets started because someone is feeling warm and glowy about the place, inspired by something or other - but it obviously leads to the lists and so on.

It seems really you get mentioned if you post a lot. You can't be noticed by loads of people if you barely post. You have to have a bit of an addiction to this place.

I used to get mentioned a lot on these but it wasn't because I am especially popular or wonderful, it was because I was evident, because I was on here all the bloody time. I was very needy, and got what I needed I suppose.

Now I post far less but still am one of those familiar names I suppose because I used to post such a lot. People who don't post much don't get remembered. So don't feel bad if you are not on here.

It doesn't mean you're not popular, it just means you don't have a day glo sign above your head saying 'love me' Grin

(btw thankyou very much Sorky and Liberty - you are both smashing, too!) Smile

Alouiseg · 13/08/2010 03:05

Waaaa? Will have to check out that news Hmm. Is that what's keeping you awake? I had 2.5 hours sleep last night and then had to go bloody rollercoastering all day. Yawn!

I didn't even have a debauched late night, just Tepanyaki with the boys and a bottle of something yummy. Therefore having an early night tonight, hopefully.

Thank goodness for ipads and wifi, I would be bereft not knowing what's occurring in cyberland.

When are you supposed to be off! You could drive? Or is that a bloody stupid suggestion?

Il email you I think. My thread hijacking is an abominable liberty :o

FellatioNelson · 13/08/2010 02:53

Yes, I know - it's true. I just let you take the bullets while I pretend to be nice.Grin

Anyway, think yourself lucky to be coming home from a holiday - I may not be going on mine. In case you are not keeping over there, most airports are due to close because of UCAS strikes over the bank holiday weekend.Angry

Alouiseg · 13/08/2010 02:41

Ps I have a spreadsheet of the "popular girls" and how often they are mentioned. We shall analyse when we return from family holidays. that phrase chills me to the bone.

Alouiseg · 13/08/2010 02:38

Rofl @FellatioNelson. Good cop????

I think not young lady, you just hold the tasteful low voltage lamp while I interrogate and ask all the tricky questions......the tricky questions that you so carefully script for me. I am a mere pinocchio to your manipulative Giuseppe.

MilkNoSugarPlease · 12/08/2010 22:12

I also covet special Starbucks feelings for Chaos :o

FellatioNelson · 12/08/2010 21:56

This is ridiculous - what are we - 12 year olds on FB or Bebo listing our friends in descending order to make the ones at the bottom feel shite?Angry

We all know who the royalty are, and this thread confirms it.

Anyway, now I'm here...I tend to like anyone who is generally an awkward but interesting pain in the arse. Grin

Anyone keeping a tally? Who is in the lead?Wink

Seriously though, I love (almost) all of you -especially for the fact that we can be poles apart politically and demographically yet I still find you to be funny, intelligent, challenging, supportive and intriguing. But mostly funny.

I especially like Alouiseg because we have been brought together (altogether now -aah) in RL through MN and she is totally on my wavelength and says everything I think but am too scared to say. We have a good cop/bad cop thing going on, and in case you hadn't noticed, I am the definitely the good cop.Grin

But a few of you really get on my tits.Hmm

I'm dreading mentioning specific people because I'd hate to offend if I left any of you out, and there are so many, but I must just say that LeQueen is the bees knees for sheer brass neck and pantomime value.Grin

I'm tempted to mention others now but I won't, or it will turn itno one of those BEBO lists.....

SanctiMoanyArse · 12/08/2010 20:00

And indeed Jofeb who actually WAS my doula!

Am not mentioning anyone else mind as will forget someone really, really important.

Helen thank you. I hope things are ok - saw your last thread and have replied :)

I love all the MNers even the annoying ones. I actually spend far too much time on this site - what did I do before I knew it existed I do not know!

NormaSknockers · 12/08/2010 18:15

dammit sorry, toddler ishoos

sorky · 12/08/2010 17:57

did you not partake of the commando thread last night?
'twas funny Grin

I do agree though. It took a while to recover from Moldiegate imo

Still, there are a few posters who are new-ish and very entertaining...it's different.

SanctiMoanyArse · 12/08/2010 17:38

I would agree DP

I mean, yes I do the angst (and Sn was always a bit like that- although not so at the same time, you probably GWIM in the context) but I rarely did the angst on here, it wasn't what its about

Whereas now its always there so I end up keeping comfy shoes by my soapbox

All went to pot when those sellers bits started

daftpunk · 12/08/2010 17:35

I miss alot of the old posters;

MN is great, but I think it's lost something. I've been here 3 yrs in September & it's just too political now, the feminist section was the last straw (I've hidden it)

MN used to be alot more fun and frivolous. I think that's what I'm trying to say, too many people into all the heavy & angsty stuff now...

SanctiMoanyArse · 12/08/2010 17:08

And I miss MB too

But i've seen a few of the old gang lately and it has been nice

SanctiMoanyArse · 12/08/2010 17:07

Can I just say that Peachy used to be really nice and you know, as well as being A Battler, had a decent SOH after a drink or two

Wink

Ah well good try

sorky · 12/08/2010 15:22

tortoise I mentioned you aaaaaaaages back :)

ivykaty44 · 12/08/2010 15:13

You are going in the police - your not going to make a detective are you?? GrinGrin
