I reported too.

Very glad s/he has been removed.

As I said on the thread, I feel this is a bit of a wake-up call. We don't always know who we're telling things to and it's a good idea sometimes stop ourselves and think why exactly we're sharing personal information (like your children's night attire) with any stranger who asks.

There's often a theme on MN that we're being overprotective and paedophiles and weirdos are few and far between. Sadly, having worked in/around the IT field and knowing people in digital forensics, I don't think they are as few and far between as we'd like. It's astounding what many 'normal' people have in their internet histories.

Eww ewww eww Creepy fucker.

BitOfFun · 16/07/2010 01:35

Ah Colditz- that makes sense- phew

colditz · 16/07/2010 00:55

Actually, My dad used to work for the Vice squad in Leicester, and I had him on the phone as I was typing. I was hoping something could be done about tracing the Op's Ip address, but obviously didn't want to say so and make the poster log off.

Just think, if it is a pervert, how easy they would be to trace from here and how interesting it would be to, say, follow them around for a few months, to see what contact they have with children.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 15/07/2010 22:40

urgh

wukter · 15/07/2010 22:36

Why would they bother anyway.
Someone unpleasant, I think, picking a generic wimmin's name.

scurryfunge · 15/07/2010 22:31

mmmm......I agree....getting a definite kick out of it, one would say.

tethersend · 15/07/2010 22:29

Do you reckon they would have the wherewithal to be that subtle though? I'm pretty sure poster was a bloke with an unsavoury fetish...

OP posts:
scurryfunge · 15/07/2010 22:26

What is that?

PortiaNovmerriment · 15/07/2010 22:25

Nethuns

tethersend · 15/07/2010 22:20

What other place?

OP posts:
PortiaNovmerriment · 15/07/2010 22:15

That is the creepiest poster I've ever noticed

I wonder if they are from The Other Place, with that username?

tethersend · 15/07/2010 15:05

Unsettling.

scurryfunge · 15/07/2010 14:00

Very bizarre thread. Not just a troll, it seems.

whatdoesntkillyou · 15/07/2010 13:55

Just brings it home that there really are some wierd and dangerous individuals out there.

Honeydragon · 15/07/2010 12:08

thanks justine

suitejudyblue · 15/07/2010 10:23

I didn't see the thread but looking at the posts unless she also posted a lot in chat she's a pretty weird troll, why bother to make so few posts in so many years ?

tethersend · 15/07/2010 10:20

Thanks for info, Justine.

OP posts:
JustineMumsnet · 15/07/2010 10:18

Yes the poster was a troll and we've banned hime/her.

Honeydragon · 15/07/2010 10:02

yup - I think disenchanted may be right, she doesn't really post on anything else. MN are aware now so I guess we just put it down to experience and pay attention to what we post on.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 15/07/2010 10:02

Jaysus - just searched on the name. That is very very strange. Why would you only post on subjects related to being naked?

tethersend · 15/07/2010 09:59

I know I should probably just leave it now- but it was all a bit weird, wasn't it?

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 15/07/2010 09:57

maybe she is vvvvvvv pro nudist????
I too am nosey intrigued by colditz wanting the op to stick around for her own reasons.

tethersend · 15/07/2010 09:57

Colditz didn't want her banned... said she had her reasons.

OP posts:
Jeane · 15/07/2010 09:56

Oh what have I missed? This sounds gruesome.

And what's Colditz got to do with it?
