...does the fact that the op was on a wind up mean she wasn't for real?

[hopeful]

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:16

Can they do that Defluffy?

I think I may have left a piece of my soul on that thread. I'm knackered.

PortiaNovmerriment · 11/07/2010 22:16

Facebook is full of vendettas though- how can MNHQ ever hope to police that? In fact the addition of the FB button is positively encouraging posters to "take it outside", surely?

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 22:15

Catherine, with all due respect, the fb thing was a tiny aspect of the debate and posts could easily have been deleted. You could have given a warning. And since when does mnhq sensor what goes on off board????

It was wrong to delete the thread. How many times has (mostly one poster) posted outrightly homophobic, racist, disablist things and nothing gets done about that?

That's really nasty, noddy. Well done for not linking to page though; you showed great restraint.

SpringHeeledJack · 11/07/2010 22:14

DeFluffy · 11/07/2010 22:14

MNHQ - could you reinstate the thread but delete the 5 posts referring to facebook please? otherwise all the earlier stuff will have to be typed again

noddyholder · 11/07/2010 22:13

I don't understand it either but have kept the posts on fb as they are shocking and they really aren't what MN is about.

ifancyashandy · 11/07/2010 22:13

Am giving up. A shame it's over but was a pleasure doing business with you ladies.

Until the next time....

I think we all have TBH.

Shame.

Northernlurker · 11/07/2010 22:11

Well now I'm properly outraged!

The op posted a deliberately inflammatory thread, denied the fact and then was well and truly embarassed when it was pointed out that her dubious motivation was all over a thread on Mnet and facebook. And yet it's the fact that posters pointed out that she was on the wind up that's the problem here?

ninah · 11/07/2010 22:10

I meant that in a good way btw - I think the first to question stuff

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 22:10

tether I'm blowing my vuvuzela

Look, i wasn't able to put my point across very well on that thread because I didn't have the benefit of using my own life experience and background to illustrate why my views are whgat they are. I was going to do a reveal but thread was deleted and i've lost impetus

ifancyashandy · 11/07/2010 22:09

And of course that was me Defluffy !

grumblegrumble · 11/07/2010 22:09

Can we have the last few pages of posts back? And a new title? To continue discussion tomorrow [am off to bed...]

Why not just delete those posts?

Why the entire thread?

DeFluffy · 11/07/2010 22:07

ifancy - were you the sensible ifancy who was a lone opposing voice for a while? if so yes i meant you!

CatherineMumsnet · 11/07/2010 22:07

Hi all, sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, we did feel that the FB issue shouldn't be aired on the thread, which is why we said it's not what Mumsnet is about (sorry for not being clearer). FWIW we agree that the debate it was turning into was a good one, so please feel free to continue on with that discussion.
