I think IFancyKevin was one of the Midnight Bitches

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:05

"he whole fb rubbish is the very reason i'm fastidious about keeping mn and rl separate."

Fuck me, willie- we agree

Bring on the trumpets!

ninah · 11/07/2010 22:05

There were two Ifancy's posting...apols for any confusion. Who'd have thought the world could cope with more than one of us?!

(secretly hopes Defluffy means me )

Were MNHQ referring to the FB bollocks and the op starting the thread as an obvious wind up though when they said it's "not what mumsnet is about"?

Because I could agree with that I think, in the sense that if op was on a deliberate wind up and posting personal remarks about other posters eleswhere then that's against the mumsnet rules of posting.

If it was deleted from a censorship we don't talk about this stuff point of view then I thoroughly disagree.

I come here because it isn't censored, agree with hobnobs that loads of stuff is left to stand that is far more offensive than that thread.
The argument is always that there is useful info there blah blah.
I don't see why that thread was any different.

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:02

SEVEN

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 22:02

Come on HQ, I ought to be getting to bed - early morning here. Please explain.

Northernlurker · 11/07/2010 22:02

Stayfrosty - yes the facebook/meet up stuff left a very nasty taste in the mouth. It was discouraging as well because i like to think I'm sharing webspace with reasonably bright women. Numpties who post their evil wind up plans on facebook and other threads on MNET aren't going to help me with my tricky personal dilemas are they?

DeFluffy · 11/07/2010 22:01

oh and STayFrosty - sorry forgot you

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 11/07/2010 22:01

Why thank you

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:00

I used the jelly and walls one.

MmeBlueberry and I are polar opposites, and we would each agree so- we have argued on countless threads but if I agreed with heron any point I would say so; I hope she would me.

I thought that was what MN was about...

ninah · 11/07/2010 22:00

like your name chickens

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 22:00

yy there is so much crap on here sometimes - esp before the elections - which was left because of yuman rights/freedom of speech and so on.
Can't have it both ways. either it's free speech or not.

DeFluffy · 11/07/2010 21:59

Well said NorthernLurker (got your name right this time )

Tethersend, Dittany and Ifancy did fantastic posting on that thread. I had just written a post, hit 'send' and it said the thread was deleted!

Was a really interesting thread as well.

And why is anyone saying the op shouldn't have been flamed? She posted it on purpose to rile people (how mature), she has said so in several places on mn and she also said very unpleasant things re posters on facebook. Nice lady

Would like to know MNHQ why it was deleted?

Bit confused as to why this thread has been deleted (which did have some interesting moral implications) and yet some very unpleasant political threads during the election were allowed to stand. Most odd.

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 21:57

Where is MNHQ to properly explain why this was deleted?

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 11/07/2010 21:57

Am quite pissed off actually. The amount of racist/homophobic/bullying crap (delete any or none) that is left to fester and cause upset on here and MNHQ do nothing about it and a bit of reasoned debate goes on and suddenly "that's not what MN is about " FFS I'm off to watch the footie! I haven't got a houseboy to make me a cuppa so DC will have to do it and I don't even pay him! Mind you I do treat him as part of the family he even has his own room

ninah · 11/07/2010 21:56

yes I did admire
but I think the analogy of jelly and walls was used at one point
had to laugh when anyone agreeing with op was praised on their education while posters who disagreed were told 'off you trot'

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 21:56

restraining myself from carrying on here..but.
What's wrong with gratitude?? I'm grateful for so many things including my former boss hiring me and giving me lots of opportunities. Of course the organisation benefitted from me working there but I don't see why I shouldn't be grateful for some of the opportunities afforded that another boss may not have.

moondog · 11/07/2010 21:55

I'd be very seriously concerned about censorship and the implications for this site if the people running it start deciding what MN is and isn't about.
