Some good news to start the week!
The mainstream media might be quiet about it, but the numbers donโ€™t lie: Reform UK just lost SIX by-elections in a single week.

Their momentum is officially hitting a wall. On Thursday, they failed to win across the UK and even lost the incumbent seats they were supposed to defend:

  • Amble Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Gained by Labour)
  • Hirst Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Reclaimed by Labour)
  • Claremont Ward (Blackpool) โ€” LOST (Held by Labour)
  • Long Whatton & Diseworth Ward (NW Leicestershire) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives)
  • Wick & East Caithness Ward (Highland) โ€” LOST (Stormed by Lib Dems)
  • Forth & Endrick Ward (Stirling) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives) about:blank 1, 2]

The right-wing vote is splitting down the middle, squeezing them out in low-turnout battles. Proof that real, local communities are seeing through the rhetoric.

Keep it up lads! ๐Ÿ™Œ

@TooBigForMyBoots

Nigel Farage campaigned for Leave but didn't think they would win

Nigel Farage has never been PM. Whereas, both Cameron and Johnson have.

Most Leave voters, like yourself, , even GB News viewers are disappointed with Brexit.

I am not disappointed with Brexit. Reasons are:

UK has grown more than the major EU countries since Brexit.

UK has lower US tariffs than the EU.

UK has lower debt than France.

UK has lower immigration than EU.

My Spanish SIL has to pay to enter the UK, but I donโ€™t pay anything to enter Spain.

I'm glad you're happy with Brexit. As I said, I know people who are very happy with their vote to Leave. It delivered exactly what they voted for. Destabilisation of the Union.

But you're better off than your foreign SiL right?๐Ÿค”

How can you know why 498 MPs voted to leave the EU? Do you have evidence that they voted to destabilise the European Union?

My Spanish SIL has to pay to enter the UK. However, UK people donโ€™t have to pay to enter Spain.

Reason is simple. UK are Spains number one customer for tourism. Spain continues to campaign for the 90/180 Schengen guideline to be relaxed as itโ€™s costing them a fortune.

Have you actually looked at what the findings of tbe secret services were? They determined Russian interference had no material effect on the Brexit vote.

But what the Russians did affect was the Scottish independence campaign. Although they were on the side of the SNP so it didnt work.

Any covert foreign interference in democratic elections or referenda is a serious concern.

The Brexit discussion - whether Brexit itself was good or bad - is not something I CBA to discuss.

Im not 100% sure what CBA stands for but if it stands for what I think it does, I agree with you.

Maybe CBA is an anagram of CAB

This sort of thing always fills me with gloom looking at the Conservative share. The country is stuffed if we have too many years of Labour. But I really don't want Reform or Restore so the Conservatives are our only hope. Look at the Restore vote share!

It was pretty stuffed after 14 years of Tory rule. I canโ€™t see many people voting for more of that for a while.

Maybe, but are the alternatives better? Or will it be another low turnout in the next general election as the electorate thinks all parties are poor?

I personally think Labour have been worse than the Conservatives (apart from the Boris wave). I think Labour have directed destructive policies to young people, the private sector and middle income earners. But admittedly this is a surprise as I thought nothing could be worse than the Tories dog days.

I like Kemi. I like her practical policies. I hope she will cut through. I think she will be better.

They've clearly gone for the middle classes to buoy up the public sector and benefits class. So whether they win again will depend on how big a client state they can build to tie in their voting base.

Were you asleep when the Conservative government wrecked the UK from 2010-2024 woth Austerity, Trans madness, Brexit, crazy levels of immigration and Game of Thrones approach to running a political party?๐Ÿคฏ

I read the headlines about single sex wards on the NHS today and once again was grateful that the incompetent, arrogant Tories were out.๐Ÿ˜

TopPocketFind · 16/10/2026 12:20

How does that work.

And how does that affect the Reform vote?

Iโ€™ve never known public services to be in a worse state than they were at the end of the Tory era, or for them to have so many backlogs. Austerity has a lot to answer for.

Have you been asleep for the last two years?

I don't know how you can accuse the tories of 'game of thrones' after Burnham's coup.

TopPocketFind · 16/10/2026 12:28

The anti Labour posters on MN were calling for that 'coup'

The Conservatives should look into why they aren't winning back Reform voters.

I wasn't asleep no. I was appalled at the dog days of the Conservatives at the end. Some of that period you cite had Lib dem influence of course.

Trans madness agree.

Brexit I think was a long time coming.

Immgration..I did cite the Boris wave as an exception. I wish Labour would be tougher

Game of Thrones...Labour junked a record winning PM after two years and replaced him with someone that wasnt elected on the manifesto so I dont think they can cast stones.

I dislike the anti business and anti employment approach of the current government. They interfere too much and spend too much. I dislike the two tier justice system and the erosion of free speech. I dislike the Chagos deal. I dislike social security not actual security. I dislike the strengthening of union power. I dislike the huge pay rises for the public sector. I dislike net zero and the refusal to deal properly with energy security. I dislike the persecution of farmers and children who go to a nonstate provided school. I dislike the interference in the countryside by people who dont understand it. I could go on.

Conservatives under Kemi have my vote in 2029 and again if she does what she says she will.

We have to live within our means. If we don't have enough money we can't have things. We are spending our children and grandchildren futures on jam today.

And a vast number of people cant say today "well I worked for it..I should get good public services!". Because they havent and dont work.

Not sure Burnham launched his (year in the making) coup due to posts on MN.
