Some good news to start the week!
The mainstream media might be quiet about it, but the numbers donโ€™t lie: Reform UK just lost SIX by-elections in a single week.

Their momentum is officially hitting a wall. On Thursday, they failed to win across the UK and even lost the incumbent seats they were supposed to defend:

  • Amble Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Gained by Labour)
  • Hirst Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Reclaimed by Labour)
  • Claremont Ward (Blackpool) โ€” LOST (Held by Labour)
  • Long Whatton & Diseworth Ward (NW Leicestershire) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives)
  • Wick & East Caithness Ward (Highland) โ€” LOST (Stormed by Lib Dems)
  • Forth & Endrick Ward (Stirling) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives) about:blank 1, 2]

The right-wing vote is splitting down the middle, squeezing them out in low-turnout battles. Proof that real, local communities are seeing through the rhetoric.

Keep it up lads! ๐Ÿ™Œ

My party labour- what rubbish is this.
Not supporting a racist, facist party full of men who think using sexual and misogynistic language about teenagers doesn't mean you are affiliated to another party. Stop making stuff up.

But you said "at this stage of the game, anyone who is a Reform voter is either a racist or doesn't care about racism. There is no hiding place.". I just dont think thats true as as far.as I know racism isnt actually Reform policy. Unlike the Greens.

Fine. We disagree on Reform. There is a whole other discussion to be had on where the Greens are at right now, which would make for an interesting thread.

We dont necessarily disagree on Reform. But I think you can base your criticism on known facts rather than tar millions of voters who have a myriad of reasons for voting as they do as racists. Thats just my view though.

I didn't tar them all as racists. Read what I wrote.

And no one is disputing that, and none of us are Green Party members of voters. Weโ€™ve all called out the antisemitism.

Regardless of their party policy, no Reform member has called out anything, not even the incest suggestion. Instead they divert attention by attacking other parties.

You said racists or doesnt care about racisim. Either way thats not good. But that would be like saying anyone who voted for Labour when Corbyn was in charge was anti semitic or didn't care about anti semitism. And I bet/hope that's not true either.

I can't see how any decent human being could vote for a candidate with such abhorrent views from any party.
Reform seems to positively welcome it.

Therefore, I do feel that those who would vote for this much share the same views, and yes that disgusts me

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/10/2026 09:29

But as far as I can see there's only one potential Reform voter posting on this thread. So its a bit of a task. And theres me..Conservative voter, child of an immigrant who wants to understand why people vote Reform and also for balance because there are millions of Reform voters and its not helpful just labelling them all racists. I havent seen the ITV show though and don't condone the bad stuff which sounds awful especially the chair sniffing!!?. Let's wait to see the polls and see what the country thinks.

SubstandardMotelsOnTheLa · 19/10/2026 09:40

I don't think the core Reform voters will give a toss. But those who are Reform-curious might be put off. Hopefully.

Probably. Unless theres a big wave of immigration or an attack. Look at France. The riots have practically guaranteed Le Pen will win now.

More than 10 years since I stopped voting Labour over Corbyn

He's not even a member of the party himself after being kicked out over his anti-semitism

Corbyn's misdemeanors are old news but keep being brought up by anti-labour obsessives

The Labour party stood on his manifesto with him in charge. Plenty of MPs still in the PLP from those days. Not that long ago.

Well its true isnt it. Still a large chunk of the Labour party that stood on a manifesto of an anti semite.

You didn't correct the earlier post though. Regarding Mandelson being accused of being a paedophile. You replied to the PP who said "appointing a potentially know pedophile into the office of US ambassador" by saying "Starmer did apologise for appointing Mandelson, who was not a "known paedophile" when he was appointed, and he effectively lost his job over it."

I'd suggest there's sufficient ambiguity in that sentence to imply that when he was appointed that he wasnt a known paedophile. But that he was later discovered to be a paedophile. So I just wanted to clarify that he wasnt accused of being a paedophile just so you don't get accused of defamation. No need to thank me. I'm happy to help.

Edited

I think my meaning was clear but thank you for your concern.

Is there a statute of limitations on supporting an anti-semite? By your example we must all forget any racisim of any party after 5 years.

You want us to pretend Reform isnโ€™t racist because itโ€™s what lots of normal people are saying. Apparently.

Not really. If youre going to criticise one party for racism then your own party should be squeaky clean on that front. Otherwise you're a hypocrite. You cant say oh well my party and many of my current MPs supported an anti semite but that was 5 years ago so doesn't count and so we can therefore criticise other parties from a position of virtue. Well you can say it obviously. But you would then be a hypocrite.
