For those who want to look to the future and TTC again I would really like some support, advice etc.
I thought we needed a new thread with positive energy (yes have turned into chanting hippy) so that we feel we are moving forward rather than dwelling on what has already passed.
The only thing I can concentrate on at the moment is that next Wed is the day that me and DH can start trying again (this will be 2 weeks after ERPC).
Anyone else ready to try again?

LOL smiley faces??? lordy, mishi!! sounds funny altho....save some money and buy the tiny opk test sticks from ebay lady!!!! glad youre joing the ranks of 'not really obsessed, honest'....
rom- O is a fairly good size gap. have you been to the online ovulation calendar www.conceptionstore.com ? cause there you can see which days are good (and even for which gender) and i'm sure you'll find that you were in the 'hot spot'! i love that calendar. you enter in your details -af date, luteal phase (if you know it, helps you work it out if you want to know it.....)
I need bloody af tho to start it this time round. helped me with dd2 tho!! you can print it out and everything....
ANYHOW point of post, aside from chuckling at smiley faces on opks, was to say, dont despair! i'm sure you did all you could at the right times!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 16/02/2005 00:09

as a bored ttc-er who cant sleep, i found this site, and thought of you guys too.
this link
its fab q&a site, and BOY are some of the people out there DUMB! some good facts about ttc after m/c, and things like that. obviously if youre not as bored as me, well never mind!

mishi1977 · 16/02/2005 00:36

pmsl im not buying any..yet..its just that cpn said thats what she used and got caught with....so got me thinking of maybe if it gets to may june i might have a look at whats on offer...lol
just going to look at the sites DQ

Bella23 · 16/02/2005 09:01

Morning all
Welcome Bonkerz - the more the merrier on this thread
DQ - love the link, I thought I had found every website I could find with info, apparently not. Fab thanks.
Yingers - not managed to actually put the Davina DVD in the machine as yet, summoning up enthusiasm, have been blaming AF and saying that I don't feel up to it at the moment, what a load of tosh, more like I am a lazy cow and need to get off my fat arse!!! Will aim to do it this week I promise!

OP posts:
pollybee · 16/02/2005 09:21

Just a word of encouragement to you all.

I had a 'missed mc' found at 13 week scan, and ERPC, when I was 32 as well. I ignored the advice to wait for 3 months, and never had AF - the sixmonth old ds I am now jiggling on knee was conceived 3 weeks after ERPC, and is perfectly fine!

Fingers crossed for everyone!

Bella23 · 16/02/2005 09:27

Thanks Pollybee, we LOVE success stories.

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 16/02/2005 14:10

ooooh yes! a real quick success story, thankyou SO MUCH. did you get much grief from the drs who thought you should wait Polly? 3 wks after op? wow, impressive stuff
good sites huh ladies? funny some of the 'dim' things people ask, but v informative stuff also, esp about the 20% chance each cycle, and some/most people NOT ovulating straight after ERPC so hence why most people DONt do as pollybee did! gives me something positive to go on to next month with. dh being fab today, raving about a dec baby, as he knows i'm expecting af anyday now, so its v v unlikely this month i'm getting my bfp. bless him.
hope alls well in your worlds

Bella23 · 16/02/2005 14:51

DQ - really frustrated as tried to get on the women24 link this morning and was ok but only briefly glanced at it then since then have had no luck - boo hoo. Looked a great sight as well!

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 16/02/2005 16:48

hmm, weird. i think i typed in 'length of cycle afer D&C' on google, it was then about the second one down. try it that way!
maybe its the site rather than you?

alterego · 16/02/2005 17:02

women24 site has got a box on at the moment saying they've got technical problems so that may be why you had trouble Bella.

Anyway, my reason for coming here - I haven't been around for a while - busy getting on with life and trying not to think about 2 previous mcs at 10 weeks (Nov 2003 and Oct 2004) and 2 mcs at 5 weeks (April & May 2004). The good news is I am now pg again, currently 6 weeks so early days yet. Am booked in to see the GP next week for immediate referral to EPDU at hospital. Will know more then whether this pg is viable. Not counting any chickens (very appropriate saying in this case) but pleased to be pg again.

romilly · 16/02/2005 18:48

welcome alterego - jeeez, poor you - and best of luck this time. we are all rooting for you.

dramaqueen - thanks for brilliant links (which i too cant get into!! but will try again tomorrow)

mishi !!

and a big hi to everyone else! i'm in that nightmare 2 week waiting for AF limbo land again. tumty tum tum........

george32 · 16/02/2005 19:23

Really positive day today (after the disaster that was yesterday) so thought I would be really brave and make the move across.

2 wks past op so I've no idea where I could possibly be with my cycle (was 42 days before so praying its shorter now!). Going along with everyone else & TTC immediately rather than wait for AF (thanks for your story Pollybee it really re-assures me that I'm doing the right thing).

I'm even going to ask a TTC question so I feel like I really belong..... Has anyone else tried the saliva microscope thingy to monitor ov. Does it work? Thought it would be easier than temp etc but no sign of any ferning yet! In fact no sign of anything much yet!

romilly · 16/02/2005 19:30

glad to have you with us george

saliva monitor is the ONLY thing i haven't done yet - i thought i would keep it simple - so just do temping, persona fertility monitor, OPK's and EWCM checks

hey where did you get it from and how much? think i fancy a bit of ferning!

george32 · 16/02/2005 20:04

How do you manage to do all that??!! It must take you ages. Got the saliva thing because it looked really easy & quick and I don't like having to get up any earlier in the morning (watch me change over the next few weeks!)
Going to try to put the link in below for it...
If this works here is the link to the saliva thingy!

If anyone has seen any ferning, if it does actually exist, please let me know....

yingers74 · 16/02/2005 20:38

George - have never heard of the saliva thing either. will take a look at the site though. let us know how you get on with it.

polly - like others have said lovely story. fingers crossed for you.

bella - LOL! put that dvd on now. am doing my yoga video, i guess the good thing is that there are 8 ten minute work outs so I can just do a little or a lot. I am going to try and do yogalates again, it is dull but it is also bloody hard work so must be good for me, right?

dq - will take a look at the site

romilly · 16/02/2005 20:55

george - i know it sounds time consuming - but once you get into the routine it honestly takes no time at all. its basically just thwacking a thermometer in your mouth for 60 seconds as soon as you wake up and then dashing to the loo to pee on your stick (sorry, bit TMI) and seeing as i would be having a pee anyhow i dont really resent doing that! LOL

ok, you do have to log the info onto your chart - but i do that online with Fertilityfriend.com which works everything out for you - see, the whole things a doddle. don't know if its going to do the trick yet tho (bloody well hope so!)

p.s. last time i got pg. i did nothing - nada - and had just come back from a big night out...

romilly · 16/02/2005 20:56

i love the sound of ferning tho - rhymes with gurning

Bella23 · 16/02/2005 22:24

Hiya guys.
Alterego - Fab news will be keeping everything crossed for you. Keep us informed.
I seem to be having a bit of a green eyed moment. My best friend goes for her 12 week scan tomorrow and I am so piised off by how I upset I feel about it, have just had a few tears. I really hate this side of ttc - don't like the person it makes me. Sorry to dump on you guys, just need to go to bed and get up on a more psoitive note!
George - welcome, sorry don't mean to be sounding so negative, promise to be back on track by tomorrow, just think I need to feel sorry for myself tonight in order to get it out of my system!

OP posts:
george32 · 16/02/2005 22:36

Hi Bella, my BF found out she was pg the day before me and her 12 wk scan is on sat so having the same green eyed moments. Tough isn't it, esp when they moan about feeling poorly - argh!!!

dramaqueen72 · 16/02/2005 22:53

ladies, ooooh busy board tonight
bella, yes good choice of words, no i dont like the person being jealous of pg makes me, but it does. and will continue to until i get to a big happy round pg at 36wks or something. i dont try and stop the feelings anymore- cause they are perfectly normal, instead i try to avoid situations where i'd feel them...(you know like mothercare....)and if cant do that then at least i try not to say them out loud! (except prob here!) but its very hard, and around me alot, pg women, new buggies, baby this, baby that. oh and now two people close to me have 'decided to ttc'. i just KNOW if they get pg before me -and without 'trying', i'm going to feel REALLY jealous and bitchy. the only ladies who can get pg before me is one of you guys.
ahem.....rant over!
george, welcome welcome, we are rational honest!!
have seen some of the ferning on a friend of a friends saliva test thingy. so does happen. and noticed there are many such tests on Ebay currently. very very good luck! on the infamous link thats stopped working (obviously crashed due to many many mumsnetters going there!!LOL) there was some info about us NOT ovulating sometimes straight after ERPC...apparently often woman dont ovualte as such, experience low surge of hormone that opks pick up, and just have af then. so firstly opks would never read positive from that, and secondly, so much harder chance of getting pg first month then. as our stats here are proving!
I cant do the fertility monitor thing either....need far more hours sleep than i get currently with dd2, and need to do stuff to some fo them aroudn same time every day, i dont get up same time ANY day!! so tis not going to work for me....currently. DO use OPKS, and have done before (did this mad mad ttc thing with dd2 after last ERPC!) and find them pretty good. alittle obsessive, but i like to indulge myself!
unfortunately have got 'ultra early' pg tests now and they are burning a hole in my bedroom drawer!!!!!!!!!!! rom hate this 2ww dont you? when you testing girlie?? fingers v crossed for you
could everyone stop doing the exercise dvds!!! how to make me feel bad or what!! tell myself i run around after dds and ds enough -and dog!-but dont know......i cant think of anything less apealing to me right now than an exercise dvd. sorry, will try one next month when pmt/depression/whatever the funk i'm in is has past.
sweet dreams all

dramaqueen72 · 16/02/2005 22:57

sorry VERY bad manners -alterego, thanks for calling in our mad mad thread and telling us your news. I seriously hope this is your time and alls well at your next checkup. let us know.
I'm so pleased youre pg again, we keep needing sucess stories to boost us along. thankyou

Bella23 · 17/02/2005 09:08

Morning all !
Right crybaby over with, feeling a lot better today, think I just needed to get it out of my system.
George - hard with the BF scan thing but our time will come so lets just endure this for now.
DQ - you've made me feel a lot better about avoiding situations where I might feel the green eyed monster rearing its ugly head. My BF is organising a girl's get together this weekend to announce her pregnancy and to be honest I would rather chop my legs off with a blunt instrument! I have made excuses not to go but DH was saying how it might be "good for me" to go so that I can prove to myself that I am "over everything". God bless him but HE HAS NO IDEA!!! Anyhow DQ you've made me banish the guilt I was feeling over not going and made me realise that I am quite right not to go.
DQ - you must be itching to test
Am afraid Davina hasn't seen light of day yet, still near machine waiting for fat blob (me) to put her in the machine........maybe tonight[smil]

Bella23 · 17/02/2005 11:10

Well BF just called to say scan went well and all is fine. Just managed to get through the conversation and then cried in the office - how embarrasing!! Need positive vibes today I think.

OP posts:
george32 · 17/02/2005 11:40

Sending you lots & lots of positive vibes across now. I know that mad dash across the office, to hit the toilets before anyone spots you sobbing, so well.

I suggest going out to buy lots of chocolate immediately.

Bella23 · 17/02/2005 12:04

Thanks George. Emergency chocolate run here I go!!
