Water names for boys?

DS2 born last night! Have posted before... Still no name...

DS1 is Aidan. I love Theodore for DS2, I think DH will come round to it. I also love Dashiell but no way DH will consider it.

DH likes Charlie, Ben, Dylan, Justin, Julian, Elliot and Ethan (the last two names I'm okay with but not convinced!).

However, I always liked the idea of a water name for DS2 (seeing as Aidan means 'little fire', I thought an opposite name would be nice to counter-balance...). And DS2 was born with his waters intact i.e. born in the membranes, which I was told is fairly rare and old wives tales say it means he will never drown. So it seems that the significance of a water name is now even more appropriate. However, I don't want any weird or out there names either. The only 'water' name I can think of is Caspian. Any other suggestions before I go for Theodore? Thanks!

Aidan and Noah sounds lovely .... how much more watery do you need... Congrats on new DS.

Not wild about Theodore, Theo is ok.

BTW how does one pronounce Dashiell?

I love Caspian! Sounds elegant and masculine. But then I haven't read Narnia.. is there a bad connotation?

I think Aidan and Caspian are a great combination!

(and in my opinion much better than Aidan and Theo)

I rather like Caspian. Only thing is, it could possibly lead to some teasing with the whole Narnia thing? Congratulations though.

Jordan?

Niles?

Or am I being silly now ?

Perhaps I had better

MrsJamin · 05/11/2009 08:46

Oh and congratulations!

Douglas ? "Dark water"
Dallas ? "Valley of water"
Erving/Irving ? "Sea"
Lincoln ? "Settlement by the water"

There's loads of Indian names that mean water but I'm guessing you might not go that far!

Also thought of Moses, Noah,Jared.

But the connections might be a bit too tenuous!

I think Kai is a water name!

Also Lincoln.

Is River too obvious?

Actually I like Caspian.

Isn´t that a Prince in the Narnia books?

From your other names I like Theodore & Ethan.
