Kaelyn?

Struggling with names for soon to be DD (due in 3 weeks - eek!).

We wanted to go a bit off-piste, as we can't stand 95% of the top 100 girls' names, and had got as down to Keira or Kyra.

DS found Kaelyn on a baby name site, and we both absolutely love it, but it does seem very American (although apparently it's an old English name meaning waterfall).

Thoughts of the Mumsnet collective?

Trailer trash name. So no.

Sounds like a cross between Kayleigh & Caroline.

Or American as in Kaye-Lynne

For similar sounding, I prefer Caitlin or Kathleen.

don't like it, sorry.

Vivia · 27/10/2009 13:46

It's awful, sorry.

I think it's lovely! Unusual without being weird. However, it'll be one of those names you will always be asked to spell out. I reminds me of my mum's name, which is Kathlyn .

Jujubean77 · 27/10/2009 13:08

nice sound but prefer spelling

Kaylin
