Posted last week about Rudy.. the other name under consideration for baby #4 due in 3 weeks is Eli (eelye) so a shortened version of Elias I guess. Opinions appreciated..

I read that as ' what do you think about Elf' and then thought, well nothing would surprise me on the name front these days .

I know an Eli, short for Elijah- although he is never called his full name, I like them both

I like Eli.

Biblical: from a Hebrew word meaning "height". Eli was the name of the preist and judge who brught up the future prophet Samuel. It ws especially popular among Puritans in teh 17th century.

I have a 12 week old little Elijah who we call Eli, and although I had some second thoughts at the end of my preg about it, am bloody glad I chose it as still think it's a fab name - go for it!

AnyFuleKno · 08/10/2009 20:35

AttillaTheHan · 08/10/2009 20:29

Really like Elijah/Eli.

BellaBear · 08/10/2009 20:25

Or could be short for Elijah, which is the anglicisation of Eliahu

BellaBear · 08/10/2009 20:24

My grandfather's name. In his case short for Eliahu and pronounced ellie (but abroad so no confusion re girl name). Like the other pronunciation as well
