Love it especially with Hal as short form

Vivia · 27/10/2009 22:02

Lovely!

bamfusina · 27/10/2009 21:30

I know a few cute little Henry's but I can't help thinking it's a bit stuffy. Also Horrid Henry books...I can't picture 20-30 yr old men liking it but times change and the world will be full of Archie, Alfie and Wilfs by then ...

Spicychicken · 27/10/2009 21:21

Very distinguished-have only ever known intelligent, polite Henrys!

birdofthenorth · 27/10/2009 17:57

I LOVE Henry. It's high up my shortlist for boys. Strong, classic but not excessively popular. Sweet for a boy and strong for a man!

bodycolder · 23/10/2009 15:58

love it

issy123 · 23/10/2009 15:49

MamaLazarou · 11/10/2009 11:50

I adore Henry. We're not posh enough, though. Such a shame.

notagrannyyet · 11/10/2009 05:39

I think it's a great name. Love Harry too but have never understood why Harry is a nn for Henry (same with John & Jack). It's not a shortend version is it.

One of my toddler DS wanted it for his baby brother (DS5). He wanted Henry, or Thomas, or James, or Edward, or Toby or Gordon. In the end we did chose one of them.
Yes all the boys loved Thomas the Tank Engine!

RedSkyInTheMorning · 11/10/2009 02:48

I appreciate it's a good old traditional name but I'm not a lover of it at all. Would not be my choice, but that's me.

pippylongstockings · 05/10/2009 21:22

My BIL is a Henry and his brother my DP is a George. I know they have become v.popular now.
Be prepared for Henry turning into a Harry though - v.common shortening.

Doozie · 05/10/2009 21:11

Love it!

paranoid2 · 05/10/2009 18:41

I have a Henry George too, H decided he didnt like the George and wanted to change it to Mark. Not the same at all

I have a Henry and an Arthur.

Love the name Henry and its not too popular although still a traditional name.

2 boys is fab you know

poshtottie · 29/09/2009 22:21

I have a ds Henry and George is his middle name. DH chose it and though I wasn't sure at the beginning I love it now.

PenguinProject · 29/09/2009 22:20

My DS has it as a middle name too. His first name is a little unusual and we thought that if he absolutely hated it when he grew up, this was a very traditional alternative for him. However I would say I deliberated over it for a long time, but DH loved it so much I acquiesed at the registry office.

Everyone I have said this too has absolutely loved it - and I was dissing it so much they really could have been honest and agreed with me!

So after that big ramble, go for it, the only person I've met in RL that isn't 100% keen is me!

pranma · 29/09/2009 22:20

I like it very much indeed

squeaver · 29/09/2009 22:16

She did seem a bit mad when she started going on about murders.

Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes quickly and smoothly. Looking forward to seeing your birth announcement.
