I really really like this name for a little girl but worry that it is too common, as in popular.....what do you think?

I'm a Rachel but it is spelt Raychel as my uncle named Raymond died around the time I was conceived.

I have always loved my name and have only met a few others. It doesn't get shortened either.

Agree with the poster who said that everybody wants to spell it Rachael.

its classic

but plain

frakkinpannikinAGRIPPA · 31/08/2009 00:13

It's my mother's name and one of my middle names. I think it's lovely and you can pick an unusual middle name to go with it

Winetimeisfinetime · 30/08/2009 15:40

It was a popular name when I was at school in the 60s/70s but was usually spelled Rachael.

I quite like it.

clop · 30/08/2009 15:33

DS3 would have been Rachel if he had not been a DS. I like Rach, too.

Tis a fab name

I get called Rach all the time, but think where I live, everyone's names get shortened.

It stands the test of time I htink.

piscesmoon · 29/08/2009 14:33

They recycle-Rubys are old ladies and young DCs, -but every generation will have Emma, Sarah and Rachel-some lots and some a few, but always some. It might be boring, but at least no one will say you must be in your 30's because you are called Tracy or you must be 80+ or a baby because you are called Elsie.
