what do you think of Jenny, is it too old fashioned?

I know a fabulous 9yr old Jennifer (Jenny) and love it

dogofpoints · 06/09/2009 20:15

Jenny's ok. I know a straightforward Jenny and a Jennifer (Jenny).

guineamango · 06/09/2009 20:06

It's a great name! Not many of us out there!

Spidermama · 05/09/2009 19:59

The queen bee in my year at school was a Jenny which coloured my perception of it up until now.

It's a nice name and perhaps due a revival.

Spidermama · 05/09/2009 19:57

It;s my DH's favourite girl's name. He goes all gooey when he says it which makes me rather like it.

TsarChasm · 05/09/2009 19:54

Jenny is sweet. I always think of it along with Sally. Sort of sweet and vanilla flavoured iyswim

noodlesoup · 05/09/2009 19:42

I know a Jennifer who gets called eefa.

millenniumfalcon · 05/09/2009 19:28

jen better than jenny imho

CarmenSanDiego · 05/09/2009 19:24

I like the name, but look at the amount of people who don't like it for personal reasons.

I guess because it was very popular 30-40 years ago so there are a lot of 30 somethings around called Jennifer, meaning a lot of us will have known a Jenny or Jennifer, some of whom may not have been very pleasant

Of course by the time your little one is 10 or 20, those associations may have faded and it'll be trendy, but it seems like the wrong generation to me - like Colin or Michelle etc.

hester · 05/09/2009 18:45

I like Jenny, just Jenny.

lou4791 · 05/09/2009 18:41

i love both jennifer and jenny x

Rachiesparrow · 04/09/2009 14:00

i know a few Jennys - just jenny (or jennie), not short for Jennifer. I think it's a lovely name - have never met a horrible Jennie! Not so keen on Jennifer though.

I don't like it for personal reasons but I do like Jenna

ludog · 31/08/2009 09:29

I know a Eugenie who is known as Jenny.

mumzy · 31/08/2009 09:17

great name:pretty, defies fashion, easy to pronounce uncommon but not unusual, Jenny for informal and Jennifer is a good serious name if turns out to be a high court judge. I urge you to go for it

PestoSurfMonster · 28/08/2009 21:25

again, dull

squeaver · 28/08/2009 21:24

Oh I like it.

SoWhat · 28/08/2009 21:23

Love Jennifer. My Mum's name and DD's middle name.

Heated · 28/08/2009 21:19

I love Jennifer and Jenny, think it is a little used and fabulous name.

MaggieLeo · 28/08/2009 21:17

I know of two under 5, which strikes me as odd, as it's not an obvious choice.

I sort of quite like it. But I think I know too many roughly my own age to consider it for a child.

FritesMenthe · 28/08/2009 18:09

I am biased as it's DD's middle name, after her lovely godmother. Definately due a revival IMO.

jamandjerusalem · 28/08/2009 18:06

duckduck, I'm loving your DH's style!

Not that keen on Jenny myself... but it's not awful
