Which do you prefer for a girl and why?

Don't you hate it when you read negative opinions on the name you've set your heart on?! I adore Alexis - to me it's feminine and strong, and I plan to use it if I have a girl (in about 2 weeks time!). But if I saw Morgan written down I'd assume it was a boy. However, I live in Northern Ireland and think there are sometimes big differences in how names come across here compared to other parts of the country.

My DD is Morgane. I love it and it really suits her.

Neither tbh

tummytickler · 25/08/2009 22:43

Neither.
I dont like names that mean you have to guess the gender, and Alexis is too masculine too.
Sorry.

jkklpu · 25/08/2009 22:39

neither, not least as Alexis is actually a boy's name (or was before Dynasty), and Morgan should have remained a boy's name, too

can't stand all these wee girls saddled with surnames like Taylor, Reilly, Bailey, Morgan and the like - they've plenty of time to become law firms when they grow up

screamingabdab · 24/08/2009 17:34

Alexis

cece · 24/08/2009 17:06

Neither really, both a bit 'Dynasty' for me.

How about Alexia?

magbags · 24/08/2009 17:00

Alexis from your choices (dont like Morgan at all) but think Alexa is a lot nicer tbh.

MUL · 24/08/2009 14:49

Mmm, neither, really. Morgan too unisex, as MrsBK says, and Alexis always sounds somehow witchy to me.

MrsBarbaraKingstanding · 23/08/2009 23:49

Um if I had to choose, Alexis. AS Moragn too unisex, but prefer Alexa, but much prefer Alexandra shprtened to just Alex. More clarsy imo.
