Amelia - too common
Poppy - too twee
Daisy - see above
Tallulah - a stripper's name
Abigail - quite nice
Annabella - OK
Ella - Sounds unfinished
Elsie - Lovely

Amelia-lovely name
Poppy-fine for a baby but they grow out of it IMO.
Daisy-not keen.
Tallulah?!?NO
Abigail....Can use Abby for short which is nice
Annabella-OK
Ella-better if short for something else like Eleanor or Gabriella
Elsie-Dire-my great aunt Elsie always insisted on being called something else and even today very few people know she is Elsie-she keeps it a dark secret!I know another old lady Elsie and she hates it too.

gloomysue · 14/08/2009 08:22

Tallulah is the best name on your list, the others are all a bit too popular.

mathanxiety · 14/08/2009 04:53

I agree with the suggestion about avoiding too many L sounds running together; Amelia is the exception. My favourite of your list is Daisy. Amelia and Poppy come in second. Elsie sounds a bit like the charlady, sorry.

nappyaddict · 14/08/2009 01:54

I only like Tallulah and Annabella. The others are a bit too popular for me. I like Elspeth and Elsa though.

screamingabdab · 14/08/2009 01:38

I commented on Poppy on your other thread ....

I also think Daisy is too childish for an adult (sorry)

I like Amelia

I had an idea .. what about Elizabeth, and then you choose the NN of your choice :

Ella, Elsie, or what do you think of Betty ?

GrinnyPig · 14/08/2009 00:43

I agree with your DHs choices. I prefer Amelia, but think Abigail sounds better with your surname.

logi · 14/08/2009 00:39

i like Daisy,Poppy(just got a new granddaughter called this)and Ella.

pointydog · 13/08/2009 23:26

Amelia - lovely, gorgeous sound
Poppy - no, frou frou
Daisy - ok but I find it a bit little girly
Tallulah - no, too much
Abigail - ok
Annabella - no, chintzy
Ella - nice
Elsie - still has frumpy connotations

Fimbo · 13/08/2009 23:23

I think Amelia Daisy Lawrence would be nice.

Ella & Tallulah Lawrence have too many L's imho.

Clary · 13/08/2009 23:21

All of those are nice names

Amelia and Ella are pretty popular (round here) if that matters to you. Elsie probably the most unusual of yr choices and maybe my fave.

I love Florence too but lol @ Florence Lawrence

tummytickler · 13/08/2009 23:21

Love Tallulah shortened to Lula - you dont have to be to brave i dont think, as there are a few about, and i know one adult too and she is really lovely.
dd gets called Lula sometimes (she is Pearl - we call her Pearlulah Tallulah - have never been sure how it happened!) - i love it alot though.
Also like Elsie and Daisy.
What about Elsa - i think it is a bit more classic and timeless than Elsie.
