Daphne Broon for me.

delphinedownunder · 06/08/2009 11:23

my mother's best friend. Short, very short, grey helmet hairdo, bit of a ditherer, known as 'Daff".

MrsTittleMouse · 06/08/2009 11:06

spottyblueberries - I am much older than you!

nappyaddict · 06/08/2009 01:43

  1. Bush
  2. Scooby Doo
  3. Neighbours
  4. Know it all off Eggheads

Those were my thoughts. Clearly I watch too much telly.

spottyblueberries · 06/08/2009 00:18

Mrstittlemouse - how old are you???

I am still in my 20's (just) and remember the neighbours

spottyblueberries · 06/08/2009 00:13

Read the title and immediately thought.......

Yes Neighbours

Glad to see i'm not the only saddo around

MrsKitty · 06/08/2009 00:03

Neighbours.

piscesmoon · 05/08/2009 16:41

A 1930's schoolgirl -the 'jolly hockey sticks' type.

nickelbabe · 05/08/2009 16:33

there's an old lady in my choir called Daphne.

it's an old lady name.

Jemima123 · 05/08/2009 16:29

Neighbours, but not necessarily a bad thing?!

MmeLindt · 05/08/2009 15:27

My dog, the cutest dog you have ever seen.

I actually named her after Daphne Broon, but liked the name as it is common here in French speaking Switzerland so the DC's friends can pronounce it correctly.

MaElsie · 05/08/2009 12:51

old ladies and a sweetly scented flower

tambourine · 05/08/2009 11:10

my beautiful delicious dd who's one- ya boo sucks to you granny23...love the name, and greek mythological connection ( liked phoebe but soooooooooooooooooo many of them now) but mostly because it was relatively unused, so should probably put you off really, its horrid and everyone ridicules her..
( also, had a daphne planted for her naming day, very pretty pink and white flowers)

laurz75 · 04/08/2009 21:25

I think of a lovely teaching assistant who worked at my school who'd do anything for you with a smile. She is now retired .

WesternBelle · 04/08/2009 21:18

This is random I know, but for some reason the name Daphne conjures up a 1940's wartime pretty young lady with red lipstick and that 40's hairdo like Kate Beckinsale's character in Pearl Harbour.

Anyway, I love the name Daphne. It's sweet, elegant, different. I put it in the same "old fashioned yet with modern charm" bracket as Phoebe and Margot.

HerHonesty · 04/08/2009 21:07

neighbours, but i actually love this name

Spidermama · 04/08/2009 21:07

Aphids and Scooby Doo.

Nice name though.
