What do you think of the combination Hunter Elizabeth for a girl?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hunkermunker · 07/08/2009 18:46

Hunker Elizabeth - mmm, that's got a ring to it

totalmisfit · 07/08/2009 18:42

i remember watching the Sopranos and wondering whether Meadow's bf was really called Hunter or whether it was a weird american nickname. if (famous, fictional) yanks can't even pull it off...

DebiNewberry · 24/07/2009 15:57

come back op! come and tell us why you like it, what inspired you to think of it.

Don't be put off by these witches straight talkin' ladies.

teddygirl23 · 24/07/2009 15:39

pranma · 24/07/2009 14:20

Why not Elizabeth Hunter Surname-a bit like Joan Hunter-Dunn in the Betjeman poem?

shouldweorshouldntwe · 24/07/2009 14:16

Really horrid, sorry (the Hunter bit).

mrsradders · 24/07/2009 14:09

i think ifyou were having a boy hunter would be a fab first name but a bit masculine for a girl as a firs name, maybe add it as a middle if it is very improtant to you and maybe use as a pet name!!!

x

Hunter the Munter?
You do know what Hunt rhymes with?
I don't think it is a nice name for a girl at all.
Elizabeth on the other hand....

BonsoirAnna · 24/07/2009 14:05

Hunter is a terrible name.

GetOrfMoiLand · 24/07/2009 14:03

Sounds like her name is backwards.

For her entire life she will have to explain that she is called Hunter Elizabeth, and not Elizabth Hunter.

I don't like Hunter as a name for a boy or a girl.

hana · 24/07/2009 14:02

hunter is horrid name for a girl or boy

it's quite common in north america now

ZZZenAgain · 24/07/2009 14:01

Hunter Elisabeth?

what gave you the idea?

minouminou · 24/07/2009 13:59

I actually quite like the name Hunter for a girl.
Which probably means you shouldn't do it.
You could think about Diana....goddess of the hunt....

Northernlurker · 24/07/2009 08:06

This name combo is a classic case of the hormones going to your head!

It's dreadful.

PLEASE think again.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/07/2009 07:49

Sounds like you're giving surname then first name.

Utterly preposterous.

MamaLazarou · 24/07/2009 07:46

Agree with the majority - Hunter is deffo a boy's name (not a very nice one).

choosyfloosy · 24/07/2009 00:37

Hunter - not attractive even for a boy
Hunter Elizabeth - actually the worst mis-match of names I have ever heard

sammac · 23/07/2009 22:22

My dad(he's 76) is Hunter, and his cousin , of the same vintage is too. It was their great-granny's maiden name, so a family name. It's also my brother's middle name, and his son. He was def the only one around at the time, and works in a first name only basis, like madonna- Hello, it's Hunter here!

I know my dad wanted all his grandchildren to be Hunter/Bunterina a la Michael Jackson type, but had to settle for one middle name ( cause, of course we didn't!!0

differentID · 23/07/2009 22:16

Hunter is the stage name of this guy

funnypeculiar · 23/07/2009 22:16

Makes me think of the Betjeman poem - www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/764.html - about Joan Hunter Dunn
Like Hunter as a middle name because of it.
But couldn't quite go as far as to have it as a first name

piscesmoon · 23/07/2009 22:12

Hunter is a boys name. I agree, if Hunter is a family name, have Elizabeth Hunter although I prefer something pretty like Eizabeth Rose.
Hunter will be a total embarrassment through life.

sweetkitty · 23/07/2009 21:59

Hunter - NO why would you want to call your gorgeous little princess such a masculine name? Think of school, Ellie, Chloe, Eva, Sophie, Megan, Hunter !!

Elizabeth is lovely lots of lovely nicknames

I would go for Elizabeth Hunter

WesternBelle · 23/07/2009 21:54

What do you like about the name Hunter, for a girl? What is the inspiration behind it?
