My son is called Jasper! Great name!! And he's not poncy at all - though he is only two so there's still time!

kitsmummy · 22/07/2009 12:19

Christopher = not cool
Kit = cool

Knickers0nMaHead · 22/07/2009 10:51

none. Kit if you have christopher though

furrycat · 22/07/2009 10:34

KIT IS NOT A NICKNAME

That is all.

morningsun · 21/07/2009 10:36

Hamish

pixiestix · 21/07/2009 10:33

Kit and Stanley are fab.
Not Rupert - its way too poncey.
Cecil - noooooooooooooooo!!!!!

kitsmummy · 21/07/2009 10:06

Kit is clearly the best name

MaggieBeBold · 20/07/2009 16:22

Kit - great short for Christopher.
Stanley - the name of a close relative. Not keen though
Hamish - love this! and I love Seamus too.
Jasper - I do like it, although it's self-consciously urbane. I like Caspar too.
Rupert - no. It's the name of a man who would be a pompous train-spotting bore.

AitchTwoOh · 20/07/2009 16:03

what's wrong with JAMES, ffs? these names are all embarrassingly needy and posho. if you were really posh you'd not even need to decide, you'd just call the baby after your dh, his father, his father's father etc.

teddygirl23 · 20/07/2009 16:00

jasper/ love it fab
barnaby/ love this
hamish/ like
stanley/ok
kit/ ok
rupert/really dont like

Theteathings · 19/07/2009 22:50

Rupert or Jasper please

PinkyRed · 19/07/2009 22:26

Jasper, Jasper, Jasper.

Love this name but dh vetoed it for our ds (we live in Yorkshire. dh says no-one in Yorkshire has ever been called Jasper)

piscesmoon · 19/07/2009 22:22

I don't like any.

yama · 19/07/2009 22:16

The only one I like is Kit.

I'm Scottish but not keen on Hamish. I think it might work in London though ...

I like Kit a lot.

Thunderduck · 19/07/2009 21:21

I like Kit,Hamish and Jasper.

myredcardigan · 19/07/2009 20:46

Kit is fab but would need to be Christopher. Hamish is good but/and slightly posh. I'm not so keen on Rupert but it's ok. I don't like Jasper at all. Makes me think of oranges. Stanley will always be Emily Brown's rabbit.

brimfull · 19/07/2009 19:52

Kit-good name but it is nickname

Stanley-will always be an old geezer dribbling from both ends to me..sorry

Hamish-great if you're scots

Jasper -great if you're poncy

Rupert- ok

Barnaby- lovely

earlyriser · 19/07/2009 19:42

Now you see, i love Hamish, but i am scottish! Don't realy like the others tbh

audley · 19/07/2009 19:41

Wonderful choices, the only one I'm not keen on is Stanley. I have a Barnaby and have not had any reference to the purple one in RL!

LaDiDaDi · 19/07/2009 19:25

My order of preference is...

Kit
Hamish
Stanley

Rupert
Jasper

Though I don't hate any of them Kit, Hamish and Stanley are a lot nicer than Rupert and Jasper imo.

magbags · 19/07/2009 19:21

Kit is lovely. It is the only one I would choose from your list tbh. Not keen on any of the others.

HerHonesty · 19/07/2009 18:32

i like them all bar hamish but like you my DH would not go for rupert (bear, posh). particularly like kit.
