Help - boy's name - Daniel or Edward

So dh and I only agree on 2 boys' names. Edward and Daniel. Only problem is that surname is Baker. Would this put you off Daniel due to Danny Baker on the radio? Then with Edward, we have ds's comfort toy which has always been known as 'Eddie'. Would this put you off Edward? I like Dominic as well which dh won't consider . We are struggling - help!

He doesn't have to be a Ted.

Thanks for the moral support . Edward was becoming the fave but now I'm thinking 'Ted Baker' - oh no. Perhaps dh should just change his surname! It's a difficult surname - trying to avoid any names ending in 'er' and would prefer not a top 10 name due to the surname being common...also trying to avoid names ending in 'ee' sound as we already have two dc names ending in that sound..

Both nice. Prefer Edward, and I like Teddy as a diminutive of it.

Can't stand Ned though! Woody another good nickname for Edward, but Ed stuck in our case.

We have v.similar taste in names!

I have an Edward (Ed) but I loved Daniel (Dan) but it's BIL's name, and Dominic is fab, but was vetoed by DH.

I think Dominic is still my favourite (sorry DS2, blame your father )

Edward far nicer. Can also be Ned.

i like Edward best (ds2's middle name)
Daniel is nice too.

neither of your reasons would put me off if i really loved the name though
