I like it - DH thinks it is an 'evil' name!!

Alternatives on our list are -

Hugo
Wilbur
DH wants to call DS Skywalker. . . . .

I prefer George.

To be a sibling to Charles.

Rufus = Fab name, just gorgeous and so sexy.

At secondary school, Rufus will probably end up going out with the girl called Perdita from another thread, being an impossibly glamorous couple.

TwoIfBySea · 12/08/2009 22:04

My cats are called Anakin and Padme, dts named them. So Skywalker? Well, actually it isn't as daft as some names.

But Rufus is lovely, yes it does sound like the bearer would be a bit cheeky and a bit of a rogue but in a good way.

Rindercella · 12/08/2009 22:02

Love it

SixtyFootDoll · 12/08/2009 21:57

Rufus is a proper dude name!

Rufus is a fabulous name

nicefleece · 12/08/2009 21:54

I have a son called Rufus George - it suits him! He is funny, can't say his own name (he's 2!), but we love his name!

MamaLazarou · 29/06/2009 12:24

Rufus is a brilliant name. Like in Bill &Ted's Excellent Adventure: "Listen to this dude Rufus: he knows what he's talking about".

I love it.

slackrunner · 28/06/2009 22:18

Yep - my stepfather's dog is in fact called Rufus lol.

piscesmoon · 28/06/2009 22:07

I think it is great for a dog-a large dog.
George is the best of the bunch.

TEJQ · 28/06/2009 22:00

Rufus is a great name... for a dog!

dizzydixies · 28/06/2009 20:51

I love Rufus and Hugo

Momdeguerre · 28/06/2009 20:31

DH and I hd the debate over whether Skywalker was even a 'name' - the Bounty website does not record it - BUT - to my horror - it does have Darth registered. . . .

DH also looked for C3PO.

Like the idea of having a son who was a bit of a rake, think Jasper is very nice too bt DH says it reminds him of a biscuit!!

makes me think of Rufus Roughchops the beaver in Whacky Races in the 70s

LetThemEatCake · 28/06/2009 20:24

a few takers for Anakin!!! I am off to start a thread on it...

TheChilliMoose · 28/06/2009 19:38

An extremely good reason.

hocuspontas · 28/06/2009 19:37

Rhymes with doofus. So no, don't even consider it

TheChilliMoose · 28/06/2009 19:35

No, Rufus is not an evil name. It's a dog's name.
Skywalker is cool, though, if you are brave enough. I would seriously consider Anakin too.

Thunderduck · 28/06/2009 19:23

I love the name Anakin too Letthem.

bellissima · 28/06/2009 19:16

Precisely! (Cyteen) - and you would remember him forever! Think Rufus (and Jasper) are great names. Maybe slightly posh, but not at all poncetastic.

cyteen · 28/06/2009 15:35

Not so much a villain, more of a cad. A stylish, charming bounder who'll shag you senseless before stealing your jewellery.

LetThemEatCake · 28/06/2009 15:32

Rufus is a lovely name - perhaps a tad caddish (dh reckons that Rufus and Jasper are 'posh bastard' names - as in, caddish, not born-out-of-wedlock) but that's no bad thing.

Afraid I don't like Hugo or Wilbur at all.

We had a brief, if-only style, flirtation with the name Anakin, so can kind of see the appeal of Skywalker, lol

Bucharest · 28/06/2009 12:43

How funny- I was going to say, no it's not villainish at all, it's a bit Hugo IMO- ie posh- then I saw that's on your list too.

I like it.

Thunderduck · 28/06/2009 12:34

No it isn't an evil name at all. I love it.
