Love it, beautiful and timeless. But then you clearly have faultless taste if you already have a Joseph

boodleboot · 23/06/2009 15:04

I really like Marianne but my surname is Minahan so it sounds ridiculous...

good choice

MamaLazarou · 23/06/2009 15:01

I don't understand why you would choose one name and then only use the abbreviation. Why not just call her Annie?

redsky · 23/06/2009 14:34

very pretty name - and Annie too.

lynniep · 23/06/2009 14:24

I know its hard not to associate names - what I'm hoping is that DH wont be able to associate Marianne with anyone else and therefore won't vetto it immediately!

mrsradders · 23/06/2009 14:18

Sorry xx

Marianne is indeed a lovely ,lovely name, elegant and all! I know one and she really is fabulous! She has never shortened it though!

spiderlight · 23/06/2009 14:12

I like it - I know a really, really lovely Marianne and 'Annie' is a cute alternative until she grows into it.

sophiesmummie · 23/06/2009 13:26

Marianne is lovely, Annie is ok.

I wouldn't choose Marianne if I wanted to call her Anne or Annie.

bamboostalks · 23/06/2009 13:17

It is a lovely name.

bamboostalks · 23/06/2009 13:17

It is a lovely name.

Buda · 23/06/2009 13:15

I think it's lovely. But a shame to call her Annie as she will then be Annie to all who know her and she may not get to use the full version of a beautiful name.

lynniep · 23/06/2009 13:11

thanks lady

because I love Marianne - I think its very elegant, and I like to think that she would be able to choose to use it later on in life, but day-to-day I think I would prefer to use a shortened version (my son is Joey, although I love Joseph!)

Love it. Think of Sense and Sensibility. But if you would call her Annie then why not name her Annie?
