...worry it's a bit too cheeky chappy if you become an earnest or serious teenager/adult. What do you think?

Really struggling on boys' names. Don't really like any of them and picking holes in the ones i do quite like.

Others currently on the list

Samuel/Sam
Johnny
Ned/Edward

Still waiting for lightning to strike though.

I think Harry is very versatile.

Harry Secombe wasn't a cheeky chappy.

I always think Harry was a fighter pilot in WW2. And who wouldn't have been proud of their son doing that?

I love Ned and Jonny/John though.

How about Harold?

mrsrawlinson · 12/06/2009 14:54

We plan to name DC3 Henry, but he'll be Harry for short.

Oh good, thanks. I did this with dd's name, which is now just so perfect for her. It's like you finally find names you like and then create reasons why they're wrong.

I don't think it sounds cheeky chappy at all. You get a very diverse mix of people called Harry. It suits anyone. Lovely name for a baby, child, teenager, man, older man.

The same goes for Samuel or Sam, imo.

I love Harry!

It's a fantastic name and I don't see as too cheeky chappy at all.

I also love Edward on your list
