I'm not up the duff and unlikely to ever be again, but have always liked this name for a girl.

Rather horribly there was girl at my school with thsi name and people called her Concorde. Though not in a mean and bullying way, at least in the sense that almost everyone had a nickname which was more or less offensive...

It is an insurance company. That is the first thing everyone's going to think. Sorry. (Also, you are limiting her career propsects as she could never work in insurance or related industry)

Also, you run the risk that people think you've done a Beckhams i.e. named your child after the place they were conceived...

aviva - there are prettier names i think. but a lot better than a lot of names mooted on these threads!

no. its an insurance company. however, it is the 5th bigest in the world, so at least wherever she goes people will know how to spell it and it will be an ice breaker.

It sound's like a company, almost like Aveda (beauty)/Arriva (bus company). She may get mixed up with a bus. Never a good thing IYSWIM.

I'm really, really sorry but it sounds a bit like a Reeves and Mortimer catchphrase to me. Then again, since being pg I have taken a weird liking to the name Lulu (Dp is horrified) so my opinion is not to be trusted.

Aviva (the insurance company) is undergoing a huge rebrand and spending a lot of money on making sure everyone knows about their new name. So, on balance, no, I probably wouldn't go for it.

If you can get over the Insurance Co thing through its got a lovely meaning.

NU trade as Aviva worldwide and are now ditching the NU brand in the Uk to adopt Aviva here too...so considering just how damn big they are the comparison will be inevitable.

Not for me (but then I used to work for NU and have opinions on the co).
