On the volcano theme, how about Eithne? It's Irish, pronounced 'Ethna', but in Ireland they say 'Etna'.

Topaz? I know a very cute little Topaz.
Or Flora (Flo for short)
Or just stick with Astrid - if the other one is abroad does it matter?)

Darwina · 31/05/2009 23:22

How about Anouk?
Elodie is top of our girls list, so great to see 2 positive postings on the name. I was a bit unsure that it's too kookie for a British kid.
We were going to use May as a middle name, but now it's looking like a June baby, so having a rethink.

LadyAga · 30/05/2009 21:47

Sasha or Sascha

numal · 30/05/2009 21:12

Leonora is lovely and much underused.

BlueChampagne · 29/05/2009 17:21

Popacatapetl - great name for a dad.

Also like Rhiannon.

claired21 · 29/05/2009 13:14

I love Anya... other options for girls that I'm considering are:

Tia
Roisin
Louise

Penny, Heidi or Zoe (all of which don't go very well with our surname)

Also love Caitlin but niece has that name so it's not an option.

fizzpops · 29/05/2009 12:49

LOVE Hero - I think I have said this before, possibly to MrsHappy?

MrsHappy · 29/05/2009 12:22

Not so keen on Etna...

Have you thought about Hero?

belgo · 29/05/2009 10:42

Etna - sounds too much like Edna.

Which volcano is your dh named after Christiana?

tilbatilba · 29/05/2009 10:24

anoushka is divine

How about
Agnes, Stella, Isolde, Maude, Beatrix, Ada, Echo, Greta?

fizzpops · 29/05/2009 09:37

Freya probably is really popular but when I love a name I blank out all reasons why it can't be used (except for when close family and friends have chosen the same name).

jumpingbeans · 29/05/2009 09:34

I love Florence

I like Summer.
What June or Julia, given when she'll be born?

fizzpops · 29/05/2009 09:28

Freya is similar to Astrid in my mind - same feel, same 'weight'.
