Like "shelby coming round the mountain"?

nigglewiggle · 12/05/2009 23:10

Don't like it - sorry

Don't think watching the Simpsons is "sad". But what do I know!

Shelby Lynne - great singer, dodgy name

Carroll Shelby - great car designer, er no comment on his name

Washersaurus · 12/05/2009 23:06

It goes nicely with Furby....

It is the town next to Springfield in The Simpsons - Shelbyville.

I would say that most children growing up now are exposed to The Simpsons and I would suspect that an awful lot over the next few years will be too (plus thise with older siblings etc) so it may be worth bearing in mind?

tummytickler · 12/05/2009 23:03

No - I really dont like it, sounds to nicknamey and American.
I had a professor at uni called Shelby, and it always surprised me because the name and the profession just didnt seem to match

it has never been a fave of mine I must admit, but actually, sitting here and saying it it is kind of growing on me

seriouscase · 12/05/2009 23:01

No. Everyone will think of Julia Roberts in that film where she dies and leaves a young child.

Tommy · 12/05/2009 23:00
