Opinions on Cedric please

Hello
I am loving Cedric at the moment - it is my top spot (still need to convince dh).
What do you think?
Do you think the Harry Potter association will make it popular (I havent read it so dont know how central the character is).
I would hate it to be the new Archie or Alfie or whatever!

I think that before you decide on a name, imagine yourself a spotty, shy 11 year old who hasn't done your growing yet so that you're a foot shorter than your peers. Now imagine it's your first day at Secondary school. 3 year 9s come up to you in the corridor. They are huge and tall and so cool you want to faint. They say "Hey, you, what's your name?"

Now imagine how you feel in the moments before you say "Cedric"

Agree that Torquil or Tarquin are suitable only for a hypothetical ds! Not keen at all on them!

They are called Richie and Margot, and plenty of people hate those names.

Cedric and Quentin are in a whole new league of geek chic though.

I love Nerds. I have had many an interesting evening in the company of nerds/geeks/bottles og wine!
I would rather have a nerd, than a cider swilling yob .

Why are you surprised about a quentin and a cedric thread?

They are names, you know. And they are male names. And they are unoffensive names. We all have different tastes. What is so jawuplifting about that?
