I forgot to add this one to my lists. I think it might be quite fresh on a youngster?
Opinions from the experts please

Old woman-ish. Although I went to school with an Eileen (and an Aileen) and I'm not that old..

pagwatch · 21/04/2009 18:17

Aileen is lovely but def not more unusal than Eileen.
I have never met a child with my mothers name but DD has several Aileens at her school and my neice is one too

lljkk · 21/04/2009 18:16

I like Eileen, but it does sound formal and old-fashioned (bit much for a little girl perhaps).
I had a nice aunt called Eileen.

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/04/2009 18:12

Hate eileen sorry
What about Aileen?
Slightly more unusual and nicer imo. [biased]

I think it is lovely but then it is my mums name. She is nearly 80 and came from Cork, she is very beautiful but silly and girlish so I like it. But I always think of my dad saying it and perhaps it sounds better with the accent

Sorry couldn't resist

On a serious note I think it would be dreadful on a wee girl.

jellybeans · 21/04/2009 18:08

bit middle aged

rubyslippers · 21/04/2009 18:08

Not my cup of tea

FelineFine · 21/04/2009 18:07

sorry

My mums has an ex-friend named Eileen. It makes me think of her. She was a cleaner and looked very rough.

Oh I am useless with names tbh.
