I love Ted but DH hates Edward (too posh for us apparently )

Are there any other names we can use instead?

monicker2 you are the only other person I have "met" with a real, undiluted Ted!

I am secretly hoping the name will NOT catch on in a big way!

bluebump · 18/04/2009 10:54

I would just go for Ted then like bigted, I think it's a lovely name on its own. I have a Theo but we didn't go for Theodore.

monicker2 · 18/04/2009 10:54

Bigted, I have a Ted too and he is just Ted on his birth certificate.

We LOVE the name too!

Edward or Theodore

I really like the name Edward and it definitely isn't "too posh"

Just saw your name - my daughter is called Lizzy!

bigted · 18/04/2009 10:51

I do like Theodore and did consider having that on his bc but decided that for me it was just a tad too pretentious.

bigted · 18/04/2009 10:50

I went through this exact dilema.

We just called him Ted on his birth certificate, not short for anything.

He is just Ted! I love the name and it really suits him.

he gets called Ted or Teddy

bluebump · 18/04/2009 10:45

Theodore. Then he can be Theo or Ted/Teddy.

Every Ted I have ever known has been an Edward.

Terence?
Edmund/Edwin?
