Isobel

supergluebum · 18/04/2009 20:11

Oh Neena28 I have an Isobel. I love it. It is her name iykwim, she is totally an Isobel. Don't regret your choice. It's not that common think of all the Claires from school and that's still a pretty and classic name.

Neena28 · 18/04/2009 20:05

I have an Isabel and it is so so popular. It wasn't my first choice, I compromised and I have regretted it ever since.

I love Abby and think abby rose is very pretty.

that makes it sound like i hate Isabel and i don't just it being so common has been a nuisance. At an easter party out of about 12 children there were 3 Isabels. Just makes life hard work.

Good luck choosing.

MuppetsMuggle · 18/04/2009 20:02

Abigail

PuppyMonkey · 18/04/2009 20:01

I much prefer Abigail. Isabel soooooo zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz now.

You are NEVER going to come to a decision with this thread.

alibaabaa · 18/04/2009 20:01

Isabel Rose is beautiful

supergluebum · 18/04/2009 20:01

Love both names, know a couple of lovely Abigails. But Isobel Rose would be my choice with that spelling.

Isabella looks right, but Isabel doesn't iykwim.

juuule · 18/04/2009 19:58

I prefer Isabel.

Isabella Rose would be nice, too.

thisisyesterday · 18/04/2009 19:56

I like both, but Isabel is pretty common right now so I would probably go with Abigail

TaleofTwoCities · 18/04/2009 19:55

Alternative to Isabel - I like Imogen which is less popular! Same number of syllables etc. Feel free to ignore me though. I love both your choices too .

rubyslippers · 18/04/2009 19:53

Abigail Rose

feedthegoat · 18/04/2009 19:52

I like both but Isobel is my favourite. I do know a few of each.

chequersmate · 18/04/2009 19:51

Abigail I'm not sure about - bit 70s maybe?

Love Isobel with the o spelling.

cluelessnchaos · 18/04/2009 19:50

Isobel

Wolfcub · 18/04/2009 19:49

I think abigail goes better with rose than isabel, fwiw I know one abigail and one isabel

lljkk · 18/04/2009 19:36

Isabel is the most common girl's name nowadays (including all the variant spellings).
Abigail is quite uncommon, I have an Isabel for family reasons but if we didn't have that reason I'd have chosen a less common name.

Thanks for all your posts. It looks pretty split really which is why I couldnt decide. See what lil girl looks like i suppose.
Im in essex area and I dont know any Abigails and i know 2 isabellas but no isabels.

lunamoon2 · 18/04/2009 17:00

Both are lovely, think Abigail is slightly less popular and agree with lotspot about the spelling being more tricky for Isabel.

Abigail

mrsgboring · 18/04/2009 10:43

Abigail Rose There are millions of Isabels and also so many variant spellings, she will have to spell her first name for the rest of her life.

changename1 · 18/04/2009 10:37

abigail rose

LaDiDaDi · 17/04/2009 23:23

Isobel Rose, dd's middle name is Isobel and I love it though Abigail is lovely too.

wishingwellofhope · 17/04/2009 23:23

Abigail - Abi for short (never Abbey or similar)
