Which do you prefer, if either, for a first name? Older sisters already have Daisy, Violet and Ivy between them and would like to continue the theme!

What about Willow?
Nothing wrong with Primrose BTW - if you love it go for it honey!

myfeethurt · 12/04/2009 20:57

clover is lovely, i wanted it for my daughter but my partner wouldn't let me, it's from what katy did isn't it?

frazzledoldbag · 12/04/2009 20:54

cupoftea - you have to have the hide of a Rhino to post on here don't ya!! You've taken some fairly rude posts very well!!

Threeisenoughthanks · 11/04/2009 20:07

Clover

themoon66 · 11/04/2009 19:18

Clover and Primrose - two lovely jersey cow names.

ItsMargotBeaurEGGarde · 11/04/2009 19:16

Frazzledoldbag, you had your baby yet?!

kittywise · 11/04/2009 19:06

No, they both sound like something from a bad kids' tv prog.

cupofteaplease · 11/04/2009 18:53

Hmm- well I guess I did ask for opinions!

I think I like Primrose best, so would probably choose that name.

Dh has now suggested Bluebell- I told him there has recently been a whole other thread about that name!

I will keep looking, as I am fascinated by names and think it's such a big decision to make. I'm glad I went with my gut feeling for my other dc's names though, so I assume I'll do the same again this time.

Thanks for the input

wot tinker said. and clover reminds me of butter or a cartoon sheep - not shaun

Tinker · 11/04/2009 18:43

Harold Shipman's wife was Primrose. Don't like it anyway.

Gunnerbean · 11/04/2009 18:04

I can imagine Primrose being shortened to Primmy which sounds a bit prissy to me and shortening to Prim sounds even worse.

Clover sounds like the name a farmer would give his favourite cow.

Just my thoughts - please feel free to totally ignore!

Mooseheart · 11/04/2009 18:00

Neither. Primrose is the better of the two though.

BunnyLebowski · 11/04/2009 17:55

Clover is lovely

Not keen on Primrose but that's probably because where I come from (Northern Ireland) it's a name solely for staunch old protestant ladies not cute wee babies!

everGreensleeves · 11/04/2009 16:21

how about

Fleur
Iris
Jasmine
Celandine

ItsMargotBeaurEGGarde · 11/04/2009 16:18

Clover definitely. Primrose is so buttoned up. A real dot cotton sort of name.

MadameCastafiore · 11/04/2009 16:16

Are you giving birth to a cow?

ChippingIn · 11/04/2009 16:15

TBH neither... Clover - spread, Primrose - one of Fifi's friends!

What about keeping the 'flowery' name for the middle name again?

hedgiemum · 11/04/2009 15:29

I know an 11 year old Primrose, and thinks its a really pretty name. it has never made me think of a cow!

Likewise, Clover is lovely. Either is a really nice pick.

Jenbot · 11/04/2009 15:26

Clover, I love.
Primrose, not so much.

lunamoon2 · 11/04/2009 13:19

Reminds me of Keeping up appearances with all the flowery names.

Not my cup of tea tbh.

MrsWeasley · 11/04/2009 11:19

Clover was the sister of Katy Carr from the "What Katy Did" books which I totally adored as a child.

Both names are delightful.

notsoteenagemum · 11/04/2009 11:16

by the way my dc are not named Rover and Tibbles as my sister suggests that post implies

notsoteenagemum · 11/04/2009 11:15

I prefer Poppy, Iris, Lily or Rose they are less animal-like names.

Having only ever named animals things such as fluffy, scooter etc I didn't realise both my dc have popular cat/dog names and I hate it when people say my pet has the same name as your dc.

BabyBaby123 · 11/04/2009 11:04

neither - why don't you change your theme slightly? shows more origanality imo. Clover is a spread or a cow - Primose is a cow or a character from Fifi and the Flowertots
