I love it.

branflake81 · 23/04/2009 12:04

Isn't Ned anotehr word for chav?

it is in yorkshire anyway.

lastboxoftampons · 23/04/2009 11:43

Don't like the spelling Eduard - looks like someone forgot the 'o' on the end.

We have a friend who just had an Edward and are calling him Bear. That trend seems to have kicked off probably courtesy of Bear Grylls.

Heated · 22/04/2009 22:35

It's top of our list if we have another boy. We would use Ed or Ned for a nn rather than Teddy/Eddie as I dislike -ie ending names on boys.

FrankMustard · 22/04/2009 22:30

Ted's a great name!

pointydog · 22/04/2009 22:28

I don;t like the spelling eduard at all

cece · 22/04/2009 22:19

Although what does everyone think of the spelling Eduard? Would it get annoying correcting it?

Leannabanana · 22/04/2009 22:15

i would love an Edward - i would call him Bear....

cece · 22/04/2009 22:13

Oh yes! We have decided on Edward for a boy shortened to Eddie or Ed. The only boy's name we agree on..

insywinsyspider · 22/04/2009 22:06

dc3 will be Edward if a ds, love name and all the associated nn - thinks it could be getting popular tho if these name threads are anything to go by it comes up a lot!

pointydog · 22/04/2009 21:54

I'd go with Ed/Eddie from the start. They are great names.

pranma · 22/04/2009 21:45

You can have Woody as nn!

cory · 15/04/2009 17:01

Dd would have been an Edward.

Marne · 15/04/2009 15:26

I like Ned and Ted.

dizzydixies · 15/04/2009 15:25

lovely with Teddy as a nn for baby

a Ned in scotland is a wee gadgie btw

nappyaddict · 15/04/2009 15:23

Prefer Teddy to Ted.

fattiemumma · 07/04/2009 13:38

another Mner has an Edward. they call him ned and i love it.

annabella73 · 07/04/2009 13:35

My son is Edward, and has always been known as Teddy/Ted. He's almost one. I always said I hated Eddie...HOWEVER, my other children, including Teddy's twin sister have taken to calling him Eddie sometimes, and I turn a blind eye. He's Teddy most of the time - it's a great name IMO.

MarthaFarquhar · 06/04/2009 13:10

hatwoman - I have just googled "Ed and Oucho".

Many thanks indeed .

ohdearwhatamess · 06/04/2009 12:30

Love it as Edward (have as a middle name for one of mine). Don't particularly like the variations and shortened versions myself.

MarthaFarquhar · 06/04/2009 12:20

Love Edward and all of its variation. If I ever have a boy, Edward it shall be.

Bunch · 06/04/2009 12:17

I LOVE the name Edward. Really wanted it for DS but couldn't use it as it really doesn't go with our surname (along the same lines as Edward Woodward)!!

cheesesarnie · 06/04/2009 12:07

i love edward.dont like eddie but do like ted/ed

IheartEASTEREGGS · 06/04/2009 12:06

My 'Ted' is a year old now and I cant imagine being able to just suddenly switch and call him Eddie!
I dont like Ed or Eddie anyway, only Ted, Ned and Teddy so I hope he stays as a Ted when he's older!!!

IwantPeace · 06/04/2009 12:03

Good point crumpet and hatwoman

I think I should look short term for nn and just say we will call him ted or ned
