Bit of a marmite name I think.

My friend has one and says quite a few people asked her "what made you call him that"

The 'bas' part is too pronounced for me also, but I quite like the poncey connotations

It is nice but to me it will always be a gay mans name. Nothing wrong with that of course, don't know why I think this but to me Sebastian is a gay man.

in her defence, sebatian not only had long golden ringlets but used to wear white cotton knickerbockers, so i can see from where her difficulty stemmed lol....

although it does remind me of the (posh) sebastian with beautiful long golden ringlets that we knew, and the arguments we used to have with dd1 as to whether sebastian was a boy or a girl.

'but sebastian is a girl mummy'
'no, darling, sebastian is a boy'
'no mummy, sebastian is a girl'

always makes me smile. it just wouldn't do in this house now...

I don't think it's posh, I think of Seb from Emmerdale and I can't possibly see it as posh.

However, I do like it. Sebastian- lovely.

It is quite a posh name but it think it slips under the radar of being poncey - it's not in the Quentin, Tarquin league.

No I really dislike this. It's like Arabella, a parody of pompous. SebAStian - I hear bassss in it too loudly.
