is what Jools Oliver has called her new baby! Baby got a baaaad name !!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
poshsinglemum · 04/04/2009 12:56

Peaches is wierd but I quite like it, same as Pixie and fifi. I'm not that into them as people but the names are ok.
Petal is too sickly sweet for me. I like Saffron. It's a bit more exotic like Jasmine. And if you have an ultra girly First name the second name shouldn't be too girly. Daisy boo is ridiculous! Poor girl.

LouMacca · 04/04/2009 11:32

Le Bon girls are called Amber, Saffron and Tallulah. They obviously got a bit more adventurous as each girl came!

LetThemEatCake · 04/04/2009 10:58

what are the Le Bon girls called? One of them is Tallulah, right?

LetThemEatCake · 04/04/2009 10:57

shame, because they are all pretty words, or at least, words with pretty associations - but all together, as a whole name, a bit daft.

"These are my daughters, Daisy, Poppy and Petal"

Quite pretty - maybe Jools should change her name to Jonquils. And open a florist.

Hey they are doing alright for a couple with ttc problems, aren't they? (Don't know full story so forgive me if this is ignorant thing to say)

RachieB · 04/04/2009 10:49

I still think Peaches,Fifi and Pixie are odd names!

Pixie less so, as i knew one years ago

Leannabanana · 04/04/2009 09:55

i think its the sort of name i love reading about celebs giving their precious pampered off spring but one which bears no reality to normal childrens names.....Slebs are a diff breed it must be said. I like the olivers - nice family...

nooka · 04/04/2009 08:50

Petal and blossom are endearments, not names! Middle names you can do what you like to some extent, but with thousands of names out there, I really think there are much much better choices.

It's the sort of name my dd would have liked a couple of years ago (she is eight). Surely you grow out of these strange naming urges? Fifi, Peaches and Pixie are also ridiculous names.

frazzledgirl · 04/04/2009 08:41

I still bat an eyelid at Fifi, Peaches and Pixie.

There's unusual - which is more, er, usual now - and plain stupid. And I know which I think Petal Blossom Rainbow and the other two belong to, too...

MmeLindt · 03/04/2009 23:40

Reminds me of my DD wanting to call our puppy Sparkle.

Bet she likes Petal Blossom Rainbow.

MrsMerryHenry · 03/04/2009 23:38
Grin
Poppity · 03/04/2009 23:37

MrsMerry, hahahaha!!!!

MrsMerryHenry · 03/04/2009 23:33

Poppity! If you're allowed to get on a pedestal about people getting on a pedestal, then we should be allowed to get on our pedestals.

So there

Poppity · 03/04/2009 23:21

Why does everybody get on a pedestal about what other people call their children???
I think they are pretty names, everybody has different tastes, lots of children have unusual name nowadays, it doesn't hold you back anymore for goodness sake!
I love Bluebell as a name to the lady earlier, I wanted that, but Gerri Halliwell used it a few weeks before my DD was born and I thought it would look like I was copying . Happy Birthday to her!

On a different note, that man IS surrounded by girls isn't he? And I bet he's lovely for it....!

MannyMoeAndJack · 03/04/2009 21:45

Actually, Paula Yates used unusual names for her three dds and although they were 'odd' at the time, nobody bats an eyelid now when they read about Fifi, Peaches and Pixie....perhaps when Petal is on the London club scene in 20yr's time, it'll be a similar story...

RachieB · 03/04/2009 21:43

yes they are Daisy Boo and Poppy Honey

all 3 are hideous IMO!

NormaJeanBaker · 03/04/2009 21:03

River Phoenix had a sister called Rainbow I think. Very hippy. The Olivers aren't hippies. If they were maybe you'd leave them alone to call their children what they like. What a lot of knickers in a twist about nothing.

ZZZen · 03/04/2009 20:46

To me "petal" and "blossom" might be endearments like "love" or "dear" but never names for a dc.

Rainbow is just plain odd

kalo12 · 03/04/2009 20:40

halfwit

Botbot · 03/04/2009 20:38

They seem to have cranked up the tweeometer one more notch with every child. Where could they go next? I reckon they'll ditch all the floweriness and call the next one Derek. Even if it's a girl.

And I speak as someone with a florally named DD.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 03/04/2009 20:31

I thought Daisy was Daisy Boo - surely that is more ridiculous?

sleepyhead3 · 03/04/2009 20:30

The other two have names that are pretty although a bit too sugary sweet for me ersonally. This one is just ridiculous! Blossom alone or Rainbow/ Blossom as a middle name would have been okay but all three together- no!!

EasterEggsintheSky · 03/04/2009 19:47

Are you all mad 'oh petal is nice...'

What??? The whole name is bloody awful! Stupid, sleb tries too hard to be different name. Honestly.

smallorange · 03/04/2009 19:30

They should know better.

LouMacca · 03/04/2009 19:29

God its bad enough that your dad goes public in saying how desperate he is that you are a boy BUT not as bad as calling you Petal Blossom Rainbow! FGS what are Jamie and Jools thinking of? Hideous

smallorange · 03/04/2009 19:24

Yes in Freakonomics there was one father who had two sons called: 'winner' and 'loser.' I seem to remember loser did quite well for himself...
