What do you think?

DH and I both like it but are worried about it being shortened to cassy which is quite girly

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I know a girl Cassidy!

AtheneNoctua · 03/04/2009 16:57

I have a (boy) cousin who is called Cass, not short for Cassius though.

ruty · 03/04/2009 16:52

shame about the meaning, but i love Cass, for a girl or a boy.

LetThemEatCake · 03/04/2009 16:47

I considered Cassidy for ds. Think the problem was that it has too many American overtones. Butch Cassidy. David Cassidy.

that was my problem with it

I love it - think it's a great name. Strong, full of character, memorable, not too common. ticks all the boxes for me.

TaurielTest · 03/04/2009 08:33

LOL @ "he thinks too much..." - that's great.
I remembered a pretty cool guy I knew as a teenager who was called Cass. I think it was short for Cassidy though.

Prefer Cassian to Cassius

Kewcumber · 02/04/2009 23:14

DS (aged 3) has a friend called Cassius which I thought was a bit bonkers but he's a sweet kid so I have warmed to it now.

My DD's middle name is Aniela - Polish for Angel or Angela. LTEC, that is a beautiful version x

I think I prefer Cassian to Cassius too, but both pretty cool. If only DH were more adventurous [sigh]

TaurielTest · 02/04/2009 23:11

Hmm, Cassius? Nice-sounding enough, but I immediately thought of him having "a lean and hungry look", and so will other people - I suspect you'd become sick of hearing remarks about that...
Which could backfire if he turns out he's a skinny malinks, or indeed a chunkster

LetThemEatCake · 02/04/2009 23:04

you and I are 2 of a kind lockets!!

I also love the name Saskia, love Russian-y names in general (dd1, whom we lost at 20w, had Anielka has her middle name - Russian for 'little angel', although I've also seen it listed as Polish for 'gracious, merciful')

oh, I dunno. I'm only 15 weeks, got the results of my CVS yesterday (all clear, TG) and she asked if I wanted to know the sex - I don't, but I almost do just so I can get to grips with one name or another!

At least we are decided on Anoushka for a girl.

Zephaniah still my clear fave, but as I say, 25 weeks to go. Other inspiration may strike!

sweetkitty · 02/04/2009 22:09

It's not easy having great taste in names is it
