I love Eden but really dislike Edith, so too sure on the nn Edie...

Kirsty86 · 08/09/2009 23:46

My daughter is called Eden and she is nearly 2. Her middle name is Rose, and I love the slightly hippy side to it.

She often gets comliments on it, and is the only Eden we in her nursery.

Tamlin · 30/03/2009 20:02

Seems a bit US soap-operish to me. Didn't one of the Desperate Housewives lot call her twins Savannah and Eden..? The two names have a similar sort of lightweight feel.

Prefer Eve or Eva, to be honest.

CountessDracula · 30/03/2009 19:50

ok if your surname isn't lake

BabyBaby123 · 30/03/2009 19:49

i like it

RachieB · 30/03/2009 19:46

I like it ,but not keen on NN Edie ( old lady name to me!)

PheasantPlucker · 30/03/2009 16:28

I don't like it, but love Edie.

Don't like 'Neveah' either, and somehow associate it with Eden.

branflake81 · 30/03/2009 16:25

Have to say I don't like it.

Lizzylou · 30/03/2009 13:55

My son goes to school with an Eden (girl), I quite like it, love the name Edie.

lastboxoftampons · 30/03/2009 13:50

I love it, but Dh was not keen.

whingeomatic · 30/03/2009 13:06

My friend has called her dd2 Eden & calls her Edie as a nickname..

It suits her

helsbels4 · 30/03/2009 12:59

It's a good job we're all different then as I could never inflict the name Edith on any child of mine. Yuk.

onadietcokebreak · 30/03/2009 12:43

I know two Edens. Both are boys!

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 30/03/2009 12:36

I think it's awful. Sounds like a nightclub.

Edie is lovely though, so at least it doesn't really matter, and Eden can be Edith when she grows up and realises her name is in telephone boxes all over the country.

Edith is the far classier choice.

CrushWithEyeliner · 30/03/2009 11:55

no, it's a bit of a silly name

Nancy66 · 30/03/2009 11:53

No, sorry - agree with the person that said it's the next Jade.

Funnybunnyyumyum · 30/03/2009 11:41

Sound a bit hippyish?

notagrannyyet · 30/03/2009 11:34

The only Eden I know is a girl. Don't like it for a boy.

bluebump · 30/03/2009 11:12

I knew I boy called Eden once and he hated it and went by Eddie but I really like it, for a girl anyway.

LetThemEatCake · 30/03/2009 11:10

I like Eden for a boy or girl but I'm afraid I can't bear Edie

kidcreoleandthehotcrossbuns · 30/03/2009 10:49

I love the name. In fact I wanted it as DS's middle name but DP didnt like it

bamboostalks · 30/03/2009 10:48

Eden is the next Jade imo, I do not like it.

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 30/03/2009 10:47

nope. Eden is better for a boy. imo.
