I like!

Is this one of those rare babynames threads where everyone agrees?

jellybeans · 27/03/2009 20:45

I like it.

weepootle · 27/03/2009 20:11

Tweetle, that's what did it for my dh too. I was shocked when I suggested it and he agreed- we hadn't on anything else!

TweetleBeetle · 27/03/2009 20:05

So pleased to hear all the nice commments about Tilly / Matilda as DD1 is a Tilly, though DH fell in love with the name after seeing the film Leon.

weepootle · 27/03/2009 20:00

I have a Matilda/Tilly and I love it.

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/03/2009 19:57

Tilberry - we clearly have similar tastes

We have a Tilly/Matilda and a Scarlett. Beatrice and Tabitha would be on a list for another one

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/03/2009 19:56

I love it

elsiepiddock · 27/03/2009 19:55

I think it's sweet.

I know a Tilly and a Tilda.

Floatylight · 27/03/2009 19:53

Tabitha is v pretty and goes nicely with Matilda IMO.

Love Tabby as a nn too.

ooh, Tilly and Tabby! how cute!!!

Tilberry · 27/03/2009 19:29

Neither of them are on our list, so that's interesting... What do you think of..
Dorothy (Dora), Lottie, Beatrix (Beatrice), Scarlet, Tabitha, or Kitty?

suwoo · 27/03/2009 18:35

I love Matilda too but prefered Mathilda for DD, it was 2nd choice, she ended up being Madeleine.

matildax · 27/03/2009 18:32

tilberry, like you i love the name.
i also love the names, juliette and amelia, both of which i think go really well with matilda. i suppose it depends on your surname.

Tilberry · 27/03/2009 18:28

Now if you can help me come up with a name for a sister for Tillie (Matilda)? The first one was easy...

matildax · 27/03/2009 18:18

yep, great name
xx

bratnav · 27/03/2009 18:12

I love it, it was my first choice for this baby if it is a girl, but DH wasn't as keen.

Agree re the lovely Roald Dahl reference.

Supercherry · 27/03/2009 18:12

My partner loves Matilda.

ramonaquimby · 27/03/2009 18:12

I think it's a bit trying too hard

but I do like the name

Tilberry · 27/03/2009 18:11

I've a ten year old Tillie (Matilda for long) and still love it- rarely hear of any others too which is nice and when she is older she has a choice of what to be called. She has just told me that she likes it too...

broguemum · 26/03/2009 21:30

i love the meaning of the name too. mighty battle maid.... just like DD!

Pilki · 26/03/2009 21:27

I think your right pandavark, I loved the name and this just confirmed it for me x

pandavark · 26/03/2009 21:24

Lilyloo · 26/03/2009 20:50

Lovely

dizzydixies · 26/03/2009 20:49

I like it too

rubyslippers · 26/03/2009 20:49

my favourite girl's name atm

SouthernMeerkat · 26/03/2009 20:48

We have a Matilda, known as Tilly, so I think it's the most fabulous name choice
