Aww, nice. Much better than Dave !

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 11:25

not quite! she's called Dylan

TheThoughtPolice · 13/03/2009 11:22

Dizzy - you named your DD3 Dave ?!

PuppyMonkey · 13/03/2009 11:22

Mercedes the car was named after a girl called Mercedes.

You still get away with Megan... and that's also a car...so why NOT Clio? Tis cute.

dizzydixies · 13/03/2009 11:18

Kwini, I was desperate to use Cleo for DD3 but DH just could not see past the renault association

I love it, I think you'll come up against some stupid comments if you use it but as long as you're prepared for that then go for it

we used a name more predominantly used for a boy for DD3 so we still get the comments anyway!!

TheThoughtPolice · 13/03/2009 11:17

Mercedes is a very traditional and well used Spanish name too though, OP. So less obscure than Clio.

TheThoughtPolice · 13/03/2009 11:16

I think most will think of the little car too. Perhaps you move in more highbrow circles than I do, OP

I like Cleo though.

Kwini · 13/03/2009 11:16

Reminds me of that bit in A Fish Called Wanda where Otto asks why a family decided to name their daughter (Portia) after a car.

Mercedes is another "car" name, come to think of it. Doesn't stop plenty of people from using it

So, having given two fingers up to consumer culture, what do people think of the name itself?

Kwini · 13/03/2009 11:08

That's incredibly sad...

Sorry but people will think you're ignorant and can't spell. Obviously it is they who are, not you but I'm afraid that is what will happen. For most people it is a small car

Geepers · 13/03/2009 11:02

I like it, but Clio reminds me too much of Renault, sorry.

Kwini · 13/03/2009 11:01

Clio was also the muse of history...long before the car came along!

Geepers · 13/03/2009 11:00

Do you mean Cleo? Clio is a car.
