So I am just checking we are not totally mad, because we love it (which I know is all that matters really)

Felicity Georgina Rose

Thoughts?

CoffeeCrazedMama · 12/03/2009 10:14

Oh Boodle, no, Rose is gorgeous! (dd1's middle name )

thisisyesterday · 12/03/2009 10:14

it's lovely. and who cares what they think?
my IL's thought ds1's name was awful. I can remember sitting there while dp was on the phone to him and he told them and then I heard him sying "well, you'll just have to get used to it then" lol

CoffeeCrazedMama · 12/03/2009 10:13

Your names are absolutely beautiful - classic, and lovely. Take no notice of them. I called my ds a name that I loved and which meant something to my side of family. Tight lips from ils, including overheard comment from dh's gran along the lines of 'Fancy calling the poor little fellow that, I'm going to call him X, hope SHE [meaning me ] won't be cross' lead me to change it and have lovely (if at the time unusual) name as middle name. (I was a bit fragile after bad delivery at the time otherwise would have stood my ground). Though we love ds's name and it would have been his middle name anyway, I really regret listening to ignorant old bat but too late now.

IGNORE THEM.

boodleboot · 12/03/2009 10:11

i love georgina and i love felicity....i know a felicity who is lovely and they call her Fliss which i think is cute. i would be tempted to drop the Rose......

Stayingsunnygirl · 12/03/2009 10:07

I think they are lovely names too. With regard to shortening, the two shortenings I know of for Felicity are Flix or Fliss, both of which I rather like.

susiey · 12/03/2009 10:04

I think your names are great!

we deiberately didn't tell anyone our names especially our sons because it would definitley be controversial!

they can't say anything nasty when the babys here and calles the name!

ScottishMummy · 11/03/2009 19:40

completely agree keep schtum about names until baby.cannot please everyone or alternatively some head case will accuse you of stealing "their" name

Doh as if you can steal name

PS love the names

frazzledoldbag · 11/03/2009 19:38

Gorgeous names. Classic and beautiful. Ignore anyone who tells you otherwise!

Salleroo · 11/03/2009 19:29

Lovely names, big mistake saying anything.

My mother begged us not to use the boys name we had chosen, we got a girl.

This time we are keeping our mouths shut.

MmeLindt · 11/03/2009 19:28

Lovely names, your IL have no taste

Don't speak to anyone about names again. Except us.

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/03/2009 19:23

Lovely names - very pretty

I agree telling no one is the best option - my mother informed me I couldn't call dd Matilda because it was "cruel" and proceeded to hum Waltzing Matilda every time she saw me throughout my pregnancy

chequersmate · 11/03/2009 19:22

I love Felicity and I love Georgina.

I would probably just have Felicity Rose but that's mainly I think because I'm only used to the sole middle name thing.

Really loving Felicity actually, I wonder if DH would go for it...

Twims · 11/03/2009 19:19

love Georgina

screamingabdab · 11/03/2009 19:18

Yes agree with all the others - don't tell anyone in the real world the name as you'll be shot down in flames.

Not by us, obviously

Those are pretty names, if a bit fussy for my taste. It's worth thinking about how other people will shorten Felicity (they will, even if you don't want them to)

warthog · 11/03/2009 19:15

lovely name (and i usually hate the names on baby name threads)

piscesmoon · 11/03/2009 19:14

I didn't tell anyone beforehand-we just announced it after they were born. It was a lot simpler and we never asked what people thought, so I have no idea whether they liked them or not.

bratnav · 11/03/2009 19:08

How can anyone hate Emma??????

OP posts:
strictmumof3 · 11/03/2009 18:22

they are lovely names. I fell into the same trap with my parents. My mum hated the name Emma (why??) but we went with it anyway and for the 1st 2 weeks my mum called her Emily!!!!

My mum had the same opinion of child 3's name too. Don't let them put you off. After a month they will have forgotten and they won't be able to think of your daughter as anything but Felicity.

Be strong....

dragonbutter · 11/03/2009 18:22

I like it.

dizzydixies · 11/03/2009 18:20

its lovely to be excited but we here on MN should be your only port of call re babynaming issues until you deliver

you then announce name and those who would have issues with it have to suck it up and be polite otherwise face the wrath of the hormonal/tired new mother protecting over her new cub

Jojay · 11/03/2009 18:18

Lovely. Stick to your guns
