I agree there's nothing wrong with being working class - it's just that this name puts me in mind of those awful girls, and as Suwoo says, it's just like saying 'hun' or 'babes.'

Do you know what I mean though about using 'hun' as a name, does that sound better- thats what it is like round here. I actually like it as a name, it just wouldn't work round here.

I'm from Liverpool, and it brings back memories of all the (nearly said queen bees) popular but nasty girls in school simpering and calling each other 'queen' and 'babe.'

Agree with Suwoo - too - erm - working class, and not in a good way.

my grandmother's name. she hated it i love it of course. she was born in 1904 and called after an acrobat.

I'm back. I live where the term is used in that way, so it would be weird. Like calling the baby 'hun' if that makes sense.

There is a neighbour who has a cat named Queenie.
It takes a very confident person/ family to pull off a name like that.

There is a Queenie (aged 7) in DS's class. I like it.

I had an Auntie Queenie too! She was great!
