Only 15 weeks, bt really struggling. Was liking Finn, but just not sure. My favourite girls name was Cecily but DH has declared it poncey and pretentious knobhead. I am now liking Kitty for a girl and Felix for a boy. Is Felix just too........feline? . Is everyone always going to think of the cat food or is it just a twats name?

Heeeeeeeeelllllppppp

i love it.a friends just had felix and i think its lovely

BennyAndSwoon · 19/02/2009 12:32

My nephew is a felix and I think it is a lovely name

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 12:27

'skinny malink with fair hair' sounds pretty much exactly like both the Felixes I know. Both have a touch of lovable rascal. Very appealing!

I also think it sounds great with your other kids' names.

suwoo · 19/02/2009 11:45

Mine is likely to be a skinny malink with fair hair if he/she follows the others, so unlikely to be a bruiser- hopefully Felix will be appropriate....wonder what the PIL will think?

Don't like it sorry, prefer Finn.

LucyEllensmummy · 19/02/2009 10:39

My dad used to say about felix the cat "felix my icecream i'll punch him on the nose" lol I still like the name though - Is it german? Sounds german - probably isn't but i actually think it sounds quite a strong name, all vikingy and manly yes, i like it, and my friends wee lad called felix is a stunner

VictorianSqualor · 19/02/2009 10:27

I would, but couldn't. Surname would be Stone.

LadyThompson · 19/02/2009 10:26

It's on my list for the next kid if I have a boy. So please don't use it. I would like there to be as few of them as possible

purpleduck · 19/02/2009 09:35

LOVE Felix

MadameCastafiore · 19/02/2009 09:31

Love the name Felix - one of my best friends kids is a Felix and DS would have been if he wasn;t such a bruiser - it just didn;t suit him - he ended up a Max (to suit his rather large frame!).

I have never once thought of a cat when talking to or about my BFs little Felix though.

YeahBut · 19/02/2009 09:29

I know a little boy called Felix and it really suits him.

georgiemum · 19/02/2009 09:27

I quite like it actually. We did consider it, although I think it's because DH likes Felix the Cat as a child.

mollyroger · 19/02/2009 09:26

I love Felix (oddly, ds1 was going to be Finn - untill he was born and he just didn't look like a finn...)
DH vetoed it but I have regretted it ever since.Especially since meeting a lovely family with a younger Felix. The dude lives up to his name and is the luckiest, happiest little chap I know He is 8 and the name works because everyone knows him.

suwoo · 19/02/2009 09:18

Other two are Madeleine and Noah, loobylu.

Aaah - I've always thought Felix and Oscar go well together. That's where I've heard the combo before. Doh!

Both great names though. And the Odd Couple was aaaages ago.

evamummy · 19/02/2009 09:12

DH also vetoed Felix - it reminds him of 1) the Odd Couple (Felix and Oscar) and 2) Felix the cat.....

tribpot · 19/02/2009 09:07

No, Felix in Latin means either happy or lucky - see Wiktionary (although in the style of that Tory aide I could have edited the page to support my story )

LucyEllensmummy · 19/02/2009 09:02

My friend has a little boy called felix, i have not once thought of cat food - until now!

(oh btw - Felix definitely means 'happy' rather than 'lucky')

loobylu3 · 19/02/2009 08:46

I think you responded on my thread recently re: Cecily.
I like both Felix and Kitty a lot.
I think that, with both names, you may get the odd feline comments but there is a downside/ teasing angle with every name so if you love them, I would go with them!
What are your other children called?

LynetteScavo · 19/02/2009 08:04

I could and I would.
