Any thoughts? I'm absolutely stuck for boys names still. Really want something slightly unusual but not weird.

RedCharityBonney · 25/05/2009 20:28

audley we have very similiar taste!

Jasper good. Felix good. Guy, Miles, Justin, Barnaby, Hugh, Duncan, Toby. etc etc.

Karam · 25/05/2009 10:11

Love Jasper. I used to teach one and I don't think I ever made the carrot connection!

PuppyMonkey · 24/05/2009 13:15

Wow that's an extensive list nappy addict! A bit pointless too as Jasper is much nicer than any of them names!

Tinker · 24/05/2009 13:08

I suspect it's one of those names that is far more popular with women than men.

LadyRays · 24/05/2009 13:06

Jasper my favourite too, but DH not convinced. Also love Milo, Miles, Gabriel, Aubrey snap
Others up for debate in our house inc Lucien, Leo/Leon, Isaac, Orson, Jesse, Asher, Evan, Xavier, Arthur, Lawrence, Reuben, Oliver.

Have more or less settled on Lily for girl, but also love Scarlett.
I personally think a Lily and a Jasper would be ideal.

Good luck!

Btw LuLuBai, Arlo is a gorgeous name. Friends of our have an Arlo and an Otis

Linnet · 13/04/2009 00:15

I love the name Jasper.

SK1980 · 13/04/2009 00:11

I like it but I can't help but think of 'ladies that lunch' and 'yummy mummies'.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 19/02/2009 08:22

To me Jasper is a cat's name, like Felix.

Frasersmum123 · 19/02/2009 08:19

I dont like Jasper because it reminds me of the 'baddie' in 101 Dalmations.

Oscar is nice though.

Im afraid I think of Digby as a dogs name

I LOVE IT!
It is my fav name for a wee boy

DH was not so keen so we called ds something else and that is why I called myself JASPER on mumsnet

Timeisablindguide · 19/02/2009 00:39

Well that rather knocks the name on the head for any prospective parent....

thumbwitch · 19/02/2009 00:26

I love Jasper, such a great name, but DH doesn't. I have recently discovered that we have a shared liking of Theodore though so that's cool if we ever have a 2nd DS!
Felix is great too but equally knocked on the head by DH. (wouldn't go well with DS's name, either!)

Timeisablindguide · 19/02/2009 00:24

Sorry but can't help thinking of those rather nice citrus flavour biccies.

MarchNowFebMum · 18/02/2009 23:59

What about Hunter Turner or Oscar?

Nephew called Jasper - v cute now but think it will also suit an adult. We call him Jas or Jazzie as pet names

LuLuBai · 17/02/2009 17:35

Oh I just remembered another name that I love! Arlo. DH vetoed it cos apparently Natasha Kaplinsky got there first. But how fabulous is it! Drat well known people who get to use a name before I have the chance.

Themasterandmargaritas · 17/02/2009 17:20

How could I possibly be offended, you are a Jasper fan after all I did have a slight wobble myself there for a moment....

Sorry Blue for the thread hijacking. As you were.

RachePache · 17/02/2009 16:53

the masters... I hope when I say "phew" you won't be offended. I always get a bit freaked when online and real life clash

(PS love your name - great book)

Themasterandmargaritas · 17/02/2009 16:31

No sadly not Honkers, it must be coincidence.

RachePache · 17/02/2009 16:25

Themasterandmargaritas - if we're talking HK, then either we have a friend in common, or we know each other...

Themasterandmargaritas · 17/02/2009 16:16

Oooo RachePache I am an expat. How intriguing. Could be total coincidence of course.

Pollyanna · 17/02/2009 16:01

no, evanmummy, I wouldn't say lower class twit.

I was merely saying for me that Jasper conjured up a certain stereotype, but this might be based on a Jasper that I knew who was very much like this.
