What do you think of these names, and what middle names would you put with them? And which do you think would go well as sisters?

Ideas I have:
Jemima Alice
Jemima Clementine
Alice Lucinda Rose
Alice Jemima Rose
Lucinda Beatrix Rose
Lucinda Clementine
Tabitha Cecily Rose

Any more suggestions very welcome. Thank you.

Sorry, I know that's not what the thread's about. I was just wondering.

SamsMama · 15/02/2009 21:14

Excuse an American's lack of knowledge about UK education, won't you? Are your state schools like our public ones here? I assume so. Do most students go to state schools or private ones?

Podrick · 15/02/2009 18:52

I think you will be branding your daughters with a class tattoo - which will be fine if you send them to private schools but might be unhelpful in the state sector imo

SilentTerror · 15/02/2009 18:49

Jemima beautiful, classic and not over used, imo. But I am biased

Nicki10 · 15/02/2009 18:41

I like Jemima and Tabitha but I love Beatrix and think Bea is so cute when they are younger

SamsMama · 15/02/2009 08:02

I like them all except I'm not overly fond of Tabitha. I think Beatrix is adorable, and I agree with Astrophe that Bee/Bea is a cute nickname.

Astrophe · 15/02/2009 07:57

I prefer Lucy or Lucia to Lucinda, agree it sounds a bit 'hard'. Also Beatrix - I prefer Beatrice, which sounds and looks prettier. I love the shortening 'Bea/Bee' too.

Not as keen on Tabitha and Jemima, although they are ok. Alice is pretty.

Karamazov · 14/02/2009 18:16

From your list, I love Jemima - Its classic, beautiful sounding, normal name without being overly popular.

Tabitha reminds me of a cat I'm afraid - and I'm sure other people would also think this (so would it bother you if people thought 'cat' when they met your daughter???)

Alice is nice, but somewhat boring - perhaps use it as a middle name??

Lucinda, just seems a bit too try hard for me. Prefer Lucy (unusally for me, as I don't normally like -ie/y endings on names!)

I think Jemima Alice sounds nice!

ScattyStudent · 13/02/2009 16:12

I love Tabitha

imnotyourmother · 13/02/2009 16:11

Jemima Cecily, my DD2!

dinkymum · 12/02/2009 21:49

duh, sorry meant middle name choice depends on surame lol

dinkymum · 12/02/2009 21:40

LOVE Jemima, think the surname choice depends on surname hope that hellps x

loobylu3 · 12/02/2009 21:23

I'm not too keen on Tabitha, Jemima is okay.
I like all the other individually especially Cecily and Alice.
I think some of the combinations are a bit too much. It feel as if you are trying to squeeze in as many pretty names as possible!!
How about Clementine Rose or Cecily Alice?

Timeisablindguide · 12/02/2009 20:42

Alice is nice and Cecily is sweet but really not keen on Tabitha, Rose or Clementine, sorry!

WinkyWinkola · 12/02/2009 20:40

Clementine is amazing and can't be used as a middle name, IMO.

Jemima Alice
Tabitha Cecily

Madmentalbint · 12/02/2009 20:38

Love love LOVE Jemima - such a pretty name

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 12/02/2009 20:33

I adore Jemima And Tabitha, both are names DH would never let me have. Just as well I had boys

wasaconventgirl · 12/02/2009 20:25

Tabitha and Jemima.

audley · 12/02/2009 19:33

Tabitha Cecily Rose -swoon
Clementine Alice would be nice too
I think the other combos are just a little cumbersome, all beautiful names but not quite right together imo

stepfordwife · 12/02/2009 17:10

tabitha
alice

charitygirl · 12/02/2009 17:09

Too much Rose in my opinion - every baby girl born since 2000 seems to have this as a middle name.

Cecily is lovely!

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 12/02/2009 16:58

I love them all except Lucinda

ruty · 12/02/2009 16:55

Tabitha Cecily gorgeous. I wanted Cecily but dh vetoed it.

janeite · 12/02/2009 16:54

Alice Cecily Rose or Cecily Alice Rose = lovely. The others all sound a bit "too much" imho.

MamaG · 12/02/2009 16:52

Alice Olivia
