Really love this name for a girl. What does everybody else think?

Black eyed - how are you pronouncing Thea though? There has been some different opinions on this here?

I don't really like any of these -aya names tbh

find them a bit wet.

Thea appeals to me

chloejessmeg · 31/01/2009 15:48

Reality - whats the difference? Just the spelling?

I like it, know 2, both of foreign origin, Spanish and dutch. One spells it Teija.

dooit · 30/01/2009 16:55

Looks like it would be pronounced Tyre or Tie A as in, tie a knot in it. Don't like it at all.

NoBiggy · 30/01/2009 16:23

I know a Teah (pronounces tay-ah). Known her for a couple of years, only last week found out the spelling.

I think her family's Irish - is it an Irish name at all?

RachieB · 30/01/2009 16:22

I dont like Teya / Taya ( i dont like Freya either ?! lol)

Maya / Maia is nicer, as its a softer sound than the hard T

i love Thea (as in Thee - ah but this can also be pronounced like Tay - ah too!)

what about Talia ? Tiana ?

Bettymum · 30/01/2009 16:20

Sounds a bit chavvy, sorry! Maya is lovely though.

BlueChampagne · 30/01/2009 13:06

Knew a Teah back in the 70s. Pronounced Tay-er, which is how I'd pronounce Taya. It's short and simple. If you love it, go for it.

georgiemum · 30/01/2009 12:31

I misread it as Tazer (but I only had about 3 hours sleep last night). Is it short for something?

PuppyMonkey · 30/01/2009 12:23

Sounds like a silly made up name but also sounds, dare I say it, a bit common too. Is that possible?

listenglisten · 30/01/2009 12:19

Oh, I've never thought of it in terms of the playground, possibly the park or supermarket.

hippipotamiHasLostTwoPounds · 30/01/2009 12:15

Um, not sure about it. It sounds made up and I would instantly (and unfairly) judge you as one of those mums desperate to be different.

Now Thea I love.

MrsBadger · 30/01/2009 12:12

anything sounds bad screeched across a playground IMO...
[resolves to screech less]

CountessDracula · 30/01/2009 12:08

the playground test is how a name sounds when screeched across the playground.

listenglisten · 30/01/2009 12:01

Sorry that's supposed to be TEIA
