I have gone off the chosen name. No joke. I am truly stuck.

She is usually trawling these baby name threads with a fine tooth comb!

Where is dizzy

I have a Claudia, so I am biased.

pgwithnumber3 · 29/01/2009 20:26

I don't know whether it is just pregnancy hormones making me so indecisive. I just cannot LOVE a name, iyswim. I will definitely be waiting until she is born now as I have no option then to choose something!

Elissa is gorgeous. It is spelt as it sounds. And it is queen Dido of Carthage. What more could you want? Stick with it!

kayzr · 29/01/2009 15:46

Claudia and Esme are really nice.

daisy5 · 29/01/2009 15:44

Claudia is a name people can (almost) always spell and I'm frequently told how pretty it is. But it it's only about 80+ in the popularity stakes, so not too popular which I think is good.

Fimbo · 29/01/2009 15:25

I love Claudia. It is a great name.

Alice is nice too.

singyswife · 29/01/2009 14:34

I constantly have to spell my dd's name and I think it is nice that she has an unusual name with and unusual spelling. Dont let it put you off. The people who matter will know how to spell it.

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 14:34

Oooh i like Esme alot. Eloise? Amelie is nice; thought of it for dd, but in the end we didn't.

Kotek · 29/01/2009 14:33

Just go with Amelie. You really liked it in the past. To be honest, virtually every name in your list you will need to spell out so don't worry about the spelling and just choose the one you like. Basic names need to be spelled out too - for example, some people mishear Hannah as Anna etc so really there is no escaping this as a risk with all names! Good luck.

lovelysongbirdie · 29/01/2009 13:53

O.M.G your not still on here!

how you doing my lovely?

don't worry about idiots that can't spell it.
go for wht you like.

you might find when shes born the name just hits you

sweetkitty · 29/01/2009 13:45

I think you are right, there are always idiots people who just don't seem to listen to a name and just pronounce it how they want.

I think she would get everything from Lisa to Alesha unfortunately.

My Dad still cannot pronounce DD2's name and she has just turned 3

Of your list I like Claudia and Amelie the best, love Amelie but too like Abbie DD1's name

pgwithnumber3 · 29/01/2009 12:26

It was Elissa sweetkitty. I just think I will end up spelling it out continually for people, even if we use the Alyssa spelling, it will be the same.

I am due on Tuesday!

Names I have had throughout my last 3 pregnancies are:

Francesca
Alanna
Camille
Esme (too popular now though)
Claudia
Amelie
I am sure there are more but cannot remember!
