Welsh baby names that work in England

Ok, please let me know your honest opinions on these:-

Boys
Iolo (pronounced Yollo - going off this a bit though as there seem to be many about)
Peris (pronounced Perrys - with a hard S)
Cerion (pronounced Cerryon)
Twm
Tecwyn, Tecs for short
Telor
Pabo (pronounced Pabbo)
Gwion (pronounced Gweeon)
Caleb (pronounced Khaleb not Cayleb)
Brinli (pronounced Brynley)
Ioan

Girls
Manon
Caia (pr. Kaya)
Anona (pr Anonna) or Nona
Awela
Dilys
Iola (pr Yolla)
Marion

Deiniol reminds me of someone I know who's not v nice
CQ I'm partial to a bit of Ioan too..

Cerrion and Caleb are nice. I know a guy callled Cerri.
I have always preferred your pronunciation of Caleb, too.

Manon and Anona are nice, too.

Caia is very pretty, and probably my favourite.

My cousin is Dewi, love that. His brother is Deiniol, I love that too actually.

I think you could have any of the names on your list living in London but must confess I don't really like any of them.

BTW we;re in the English idyll of Hastings!

I really like Ioan, but possibly because I used to have a massive crush on Ioan Gruffudd!
Nia is a beautiful girls name.

Yestin (I'm not sure of spelling) is the Welsh version of Justin, I believe.

Aled is ex boyf's name & too close to DP's name
Not keen on Nia, nice sound but a bit run of the mill in wales (sorry Nias)
Rhydian makes me think of x-factor. Gethin ok

Live in London so plenty of 'different' names here

Love Gwion.
We have a Dewi. My 3YO is a dab hand at spelling it and telling old ladies "D E W I. It's a Welsh name."

Whereabouts do you live OP?

I'd say you'd get away with any of them in central London or similar but not in some English idyll somewhere.

Caleb is one of my faves. Is it a bit (hate this word) 'chav'?
Loads of Serens about & trying to avoid anything with Rh

I think Cerion, Brinli, Manon, Anona, Dilys and Marion are the least likely to be mispronounced. But the ones I like best are Iolo/Iola and Gwion.

Can't think of any boys names that translate particular well.

Caleb and Marion are the only ones that really translate to me.

For girls I think Rhiannon/Rhian, Bronwen, Bethan, Carys travel better.
